Is there a team with a bleaker medium-to-long-term outlook than the Predators?

Only good players are on the wrong side of 30, zero good prospects, a half dozen horrendous contracts.

They're basically where the Sharks were five years ago.

Pittsburgh likely going to be entering a tank just in time for McKenna and Dupont. Realistically just Dupont as I can’t imagine they tank with Crosby and Malkin, but maybe.
If they wanted to the Penguins could get a great return for Crosby and Malkin and be at the front of the line for McKenna and Dupont.

But the Predators can't rebuild even if they want to. Who's giving up assets for Forsberg or Saros on those contracts let alone Stamkos, Skjei or Marchessault?

Preds have the elusive retention slots so those trades are very doable and likely landing first rounders
