GDT: GAME 51 | Capitals @ Senators | In Honor of Shawn Edition | Thu Jan 30 2025, 7PM | TSN2, RDS5

Well ..... I guess the scoring drought is over & how about Norris, Pinto & Greig? Why would anyone want to trade either of these three young guys they were awesome tonight & will only get better?

Don't think I have ever seen two short handed goals during the same penalty or two short handed penalty shots all in the same game. Fun game to watch. They get their scoring back & then let in 4 goals after playing so well defensively for a while???? A win is a win & it's the only stat that counts. :thumbu:
They did it against the Devils 5 or so seasons ago.

This team is deep.

We have goaltending, penalty killers and opportunistic scoring! Everything that has been missing these last 7 years.

GSG!!!!

They could have an amazing April with all those home games to finish the season, let's go for 1st place in division
We have one of the easiest schedules for the rest of the season (just by strength of opponent), plus a huge stretch of home games.

That was before tonight's game. So I'm assuming we'll rank even lower on the difficulty scale tomorrow considering we just played the #1 team in the league.

Having Stutzle - Norris - Pinto all healthy and playing is all we've been missing. It's been impossible to get them all in the lineup at the same time the past few seasons.

I wouldn't mind an Ovie hatrick in a 6-3 loss

Glad I'm not the only one.

I went to the game tonight. It's maybe the only game that I'm okay with seeing a goal against Ottawa, so long as they win.

It's nice for this generation of fans and the previous generation for that matter to be part of something as significant as the goal record being broken.

On a side note, Protas is freaky big in person. Looks like one of those EASHL builds where someone maxes out the size and weight. It's not just a height thing. I have no idea how he fits through doorframes..

I feel the opposite. I'd almost feel okay with a loss if it meant keeping that guy off the board.

Team is good, Andlauer struggling to have at least 1 good media interview before the season is out.

Didn’t have Andlauer being so ackward and kinda weird on my bingo card for the season but every time he opens his mouth it seems like he’s reading from a rehearsed script of shit he tried to
Memorize and doesn’t really believe

Would the Habs or Leaves split their logo ever for another NHL team - NEVER EVER. That’s the respect we Ottawa fans are looking for and nothing else. Treat it like it’s sacred

What a game by the “albatross”

You never fail to be petty, even on a night like this.

David Perron is Steve Staios's worst mistake as GM of this team and it's not even close.

Yeah he's not improving at all and has literally shown nothing so far. Like, literally nothing.

With that said, if we make the playoffs, he might provide the experience we need to go far, and will be fresher having not played for half the season.

Norris was flying tonight. I want to see that intensity every game. Blowing the 2 goal lead with 7 minutes to go was upsetting to say the least. But a beautiful play by Pinto to find Chabot in OT and then see him bury it made up for it.

Just PVR’ed the game, Pinto, Norris, and Greig played great, and birthday boy Chabot put the nail in the coffin. Genuinely enjoying Chabot’s Renaissance this year, he has been great for this team’s success. You can see he cares to win, much like all of his teammates.

Sens > NHL, Go Sens Go, this win was for you Simmer!
