Matinpalo was fine by me! Didn't have an issue with his play at when he came up as fill-in for injuries. I thought the guy played great. I have no idea other than veteran loyalty why they keep coming back to Hamonic over and over again instead of better young players we want (need!) to develop!I just don't understand.
He has made every single pairing he has been on demonstradely worse, all year. We continue to put him on pairings that actually matter. If he has to be in the lineup because of injuries, play him for 12 minutes on the 3rd pairing where his damage is minimal. 20+ minutes on a pairing with Chabot/Sanderson is legitimately hurting the team in a serious way.
We are better off playing Mantipalo in the top 4 and calling up anyone from the AHL or claiming any RD from waivers.
