Pretty sad when I have a better chance of my wife listening to me.
That is really not true, but it made me feel better

I liked this post but thought about it a bit more.I want Poitras to be able to curl on a dime & spin fast with the puck .The reason why I say this is because if he keeps carrying it forward alot of times, heck most times the defender who is probably bigger will just squeeze him out on the wall.I can see why you made this post and its definitely fair but let's see where he is at with this move by the time say when he is 25 yrs old. It's good to have them back....
As for Poitras, it is his overhandling of the puck that's leads to those spin move turnovers. While it would be wise to train with Marchand who has an outstanding spin move, don't think that is the issue. Marchand's speed. toughness and lack of height let him get under people and get leverage Poitras does not really have that.
Poitras would better off shelving that move and studying old-school centers likes Oates or particularly Ratelle, who were adept at making plays while facing the play.
He is fast enough to make that spin move work but don't know that he has the strength and leverage. I prefer centers who draw people and make plays facing the play. ( Unfortunately, the drop pass or backhand pass, is almost dead....) Coaches, Cassidy in particular, do not like drop passes....I liked this post but thought about it a bit more.I want Poitras to be able to curl on a dime & spin fast with the puck .The reason why I say this is because if he keeps carrying it forward alot of times, heck most times the defender who is probably bigger will just squeeze him out on the wall.I can see why you made this post and its definitely fair but let's see where he is at with this move by the time say when he is 25 yrs old.
Like that frustrating backwards pass that McAvoy's been doing and now Lohrei is doing on entries on the PP!?!He is fast enough to make that spin move work but don't know that he has the strength and leverage. Almost every team in the league does the drop on controlled entries on the PPLike that frustrating backwards pass that McAvoy's been doing and now Lohrei is doing on entries on the PP!?!
Such a momentum killer.

I hate that back pass on a d-man rush. The player who passes it back pretty much has to slow down or completely stop before the opposing blue-line and it usually just screws everything upLike that frustrating backwards pass that McAvoy's been doing and now Lohrei is doing on entries on the PP!?!

According to some here it's the "in thing."I hate that back pass on a d-man rush. The player who passes it back pretty much has to slow down or completely stop before the opposing blue-line and it usually just screws everything up
It has to be coming from the coaching staff, but the funny thing about it is, I've seen other teams do it too ..and all it usually does is screw up the flow of the rush
It looks stupid and I just don't see the point ...I'd rather see the d-man try an end to end rushAccording to some here it's the "in thing."
Of course, a terrible success rate doesn't matter.
At least they're doing it the way that others are doing it. Very progressive ya know.
