BroRayko (Patent Pending) is back in action. Fowler with Faulk. Neighbours back with Thomas and Buch. Sunny Scratched. Bolduc with Saad and Joseph. WTF is back together. Holloway-Schenn-Kyrou is still the only line that's not being messed with.

So much for a five game trial for Bolduc, he looked good on that line, and it was the best that line has looked in a while. Who is centering the 3rd line?

Interesting to see how the D zone pairs look with this setup both Colt (Lately)and Broberg like to join the rush and pinch. Could work awesome or bite us in the ass.

Joseph will center the line. He's lined up a few times at C when Faksa was out. You shouldn't be surprised Bolduc is being jerked around. It's happened all year. He'll be the one scratched when the 3rd line doesn't produce this game as well.

Leddy returns tonight?

Do we put Broberg on the wrong side and sit Tucker who probably can’t go through waivers anymore because he is good now?

Or do we sit Suter who has a bunch of performance bonuses on his deal, therefore incentivized to specifically dislike being a healthy scratch? At 60 games played he gets $600,000 dollars. He’s played 50.

Fowler
Leddy
Suter
Broberg

If Leddy is really back we have too many nhl lhds

Haven't seen anything about Leddy being back. Probably just moving a player we have no plans for and nothing else.

The radio broadcast last game did say Leddy was cleared and ready. They kind of implied he should have been in the last one, that Leddy wanted to go. Perhaps the cap prevented it. I’d link it but…not sure those recordings exist? I could find it quick, was in the first period.

No. Or at least he wasn't mentioned by Defranks when he tweeted out the lines from the morning skate.

Perunovuch was traded because we finally found a buyer. Tucker took the 6th D spot. We have better options to call up in Springfield in case of injury. We traded Peru for the same reason we've traded Fabbri, Bortz, etc. Give a guy not in our plans a chance elsewhere

Suter has a 500+ game iron man streak going and we haven't even heard that Leddy has been cleared to play. Has he even been a full participant in practice yet?

Regardless of when (if?) Leddy is ready, I don't see us scratching Suter any time soon, especially since Suter-Broberg has looked pretty good. Tucker has been playing well, but he's averaging 3+ minutes a night less than Suter over any sample and his closest night in TOI was still 1:30 shy. I'd expect to see Tucker scratched, Faulk hitting the IR, or simply dressing 7 D men before I'd expect to see Suter getting scratched.

The cap definitely didn't prevent it. He hasn't been on LTIR, so his AAV is already factored into our cap calculation. If that report was accurate, the issue would have been the 23 man roster. We'd have needed to waive/trade someone to add him back on the roster (or briefly sent down Bolduc since he doesn't require waivers).

I won't be surprised if the Perunovich trade happened now at least in part because we wanted to get Leddy back onto the roster. A player saying he is healthy can't stay on IR forever. But I don't think the trade signals that the team is ready to put him back into the lineup immediately.

I think timing was driven by Isles injury needs (2 of their top 3 guys out). We have likely been shopping him for a while and finally found someone to meet our ask.

Faulks needs to be sat because it's pretty obvious that something has to be wrong with him

I might watch from my hotel room, but it's not a big loss if I completely forget about it.

The team is okay with being mediocre, so as a fan I too will embrace mediocrity.

From NHL.com, the projected lineup:

Forwards

Jake Neighbours - Robert Thomas - Pavel Buchnevich
Dylan Holloway - Brayden Schenn - Jordan Kyrou
Brandon Saad - Mathieu Joseph - Zack Bolduc
Alexey Toropchenko - Radek Faksa - Nathan Walker

Defense

Philip Broberg - Colton Parayko
Cam Fowler - Justin Faulk
Ryan Suter - Tyler Tucker

Goalie

Jordan Binnington

Blues Head Coach Jim Montgomery is making some adjustments to his lineup in search of more speed as his team gets set for an important matchup against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday (6:30 p.m. CT, FanDuel Sports Network, 101 ESPN).

Montgomery will bring Nathan Walker back into the lineup, reuniting the fourth line of Walker, Alexey Toropchenko and Radek Faksa. He’s also moving Mathieu Joseph to center to skate with Brandon Saad and Zack Bolduc on the third line.

“I want more of a speed lineup tonight,” Montgomery said. “I want to get that Faksa line back because they give us a lot of energy and I can match them up against anyone. And (Joseph) is doing a really good job — Mojo can play center so he’s going to move and play with Bolduc and Saad, a real fast line there.”

The adjustments mean Montgomery is re-uniting his first line of Jake Neighbours, Robert Thomas and Pavel Buchnevich. The Dylan Holloway, Brayden Schenn and Jordan Kyrou line remains unchanged.

Defensively, Montgomery is going with a different look again.

“Things were going a little flat,” he said. "(Cam Fowler) is someone that doesn’t matter (who he plays with), and (Colton Parayko) and (Ryan Suter)… it seems like everybody plays better when they play with him. It’s just an opportunity to give a different look. I want more minutes for (Philip) Broberg, and playing with 55, he’s going to get more minutes.

Lou Korac just hopped on the pregame. They didn’t mention Leddy once, but did suggest maybe Perunovich asked to move since he wasn’t getting playing time.

Will be nice to get Leddy back once that does happen but really don’t want to see Tucker in the press box for a chunk of the rest of the season.
