I tuned in half way through the second. Brutal. You know when they say “no shots in 14 minutes” something is going in soon.

But it’s not like we are lighting them up.

I had a feeling.

I’ve seen more unexpected comebacks though, let’s go boys.

Whenever this team gets a bit a traction, they manage to collapse in the most spectacular way against an underwhelming opponent. Then, when they're clearly out of it again, they resume playing well. Brutal.
We never got back into it

I agree about branny over hamonic, but I don't think I've really seen brannstrom step up ever. Well, not in any dramatic way.

He's supposed to be a silky smooth player who can create...I think I've only seen that in 1 or 2 games in his career. Wasn't there one game where he was everywhere dangling everyone. I was hoping he would build off that.

I do agree he has improved defensively and physically. He doesn't make as many mistakes nor get rocked as much.

But I'm still waiting for him to even show a flash of the player people thought he might become when he was traded for stone. Obviously he'll never be that player, but I would expect something near that player if we're talking "noticeable short term stepping up". Just glimpses of that player really.

He just looks way too slow out there. He gets the puck and makes 3 strides with it and barely moves. In those 3 strides, the forchecker took only 1 stride and closed the gap instantly. It's like he skates in mud. So strange for such a small slight guy who was billed as dynamic.
He stepped up in the top 4 two straight years and played really well.

There is a very real part of me that just wants to see Staios move players for picks RFN and put an end to any "hope" there is for playoffs this year. Finish bottom 5 and win the draft lottery - mini on the fly rebuild to somewhat correct for the steaming pile Dorion left us with.
100%. It is only fans that are hoping for a miracle run. 2 out of the remaining 3 games are on the road as well. Fun to hope but nowhere near realistic.

This is clearly not the same team without Sanderson - Zub

Chabot is the only guy doing something.

Our forwards are completely out of synch most of the game

Kubalik and Hamonic need to stop playing on this team ASAP

Trade Tarasenko for a ready prospect

Trade Chychrun, he doesn't fit well and is not that needed. His AAV next season and age gives him value, trade him now before he loses value. Target a 2-way RHD even if he doesn't score as many goals as Chychrun

Can trade Brannstrom too but it could be done at the draft too, Kleven needs to stay all season in the AHL

One thing a game like this points out is that the dropoff between Sanderson and Chabot is quite large. Sanderson makes every other D man look good.
