I agree about branny over hamonic, but I don't think I've really seen brannstrom step up ever. Well, not in any dramatic way.
He's supposed to be a silky smooth player who can create...I think I've only seen that in 1 or 2 games in his career. Wasn't there one game where he was everywhere dangling everyone. I was hoping he would build off that.
I do agree he has improved defensively and physically. He doesn't make as many mistakes nor get rocked as much.
But I'm still waiting for him to even show a flash of the player people thought he might become when he was traded for stone. Obviously he'll never be that player, but I would expect something near that player if we're talking "noticeable short term stepping up". Just glimpses of that player really.
He just looks way too slow out there. He gets the puck and makes 3 strides with it and barely moves. In those 3 strides, the forchecker took only 1 stride and closed the gap instantly. It's like he skates in mud. So strange for such a small slight guy who was billed as dynamic.
