One thing you learn from the gritty crowd is hockey ability comes secondary. If you have grit, you are automatically on the team.

It comes down to being able to contribute to victories. If a guy has limited hockey abilities yet still finds a way to impact the game because he shuts down an offensive player, intimidates an opponent into submission, or injures the other team's captain in the 1st period of the 1st playoff game then he probably has some value. Too bad Ritchie isn't providing any of that, bad choice I guess. Don't discount the grit factor my friend, it's what allows a crap team like Montreal to embarrass us with our endless bounty of skill which hasn't been able to score 4 wins in a playoff series for some reason.

I love the playoffs. That's why Dubas is at the top of my hate list. He inherited so much and destroyed it so fast. So far out of his league. So clueless. Even the fake glasses didn't do much for me.
