Starting Mason at home on a Saturday night? Not the best strategy for bringing people back.

So start BOB and we're likley down 1-0 within the first minute? It's happened 2 of the 3 games he's started.

Seriously people if you really think MASON is the problem then I think you need to rewatch the last 3+ seasons. Yes Mason let's in soft goals but when the 5 guys in front of you don't play defense very well, don't play hard, and have no idea how to score a goal then maybe instead of focusing on the goalie you should gocus on the 18 skaters who play each night.

I like this quote from the coach in this morning's Dispatch:

“We have to be ready to go,” Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said. “Against Chicago, if we aren’t ready to go, the game will be over in the first five minutes.”

Plenty of tickets still available!!!! Come on down! :shakehead

Unless the Jackets break out their rocket skates, it won't matter who is in goal tonight.

He may be our best scorer but its crazy to see what one injury does to us. Should swap Umberger with Dubinsky and make that the "3rd" line. He's been terrible. The coaches need to give the team more freedom to create on their own, especially on the PP. Less system bullsh;t. The whole COL game they just kept throwing it out to the point for one timers when it CLEARLY wasnt working. Why they didnt change I dont know. And I just want Mason off the team. He'll give up either 1 or 5 tonight...and its probably not 1.

You see what most fans think when they see Mason is starting against somebody?? Now just imagine what the players are thinking.....thats not the 'teams' fault. Thats the goalie and the front offices fault.

Would you re-sign Mason right now? His contract is over at the end of the year.

We should clear all jerseys numbered 1 - 10, giving those players higher numbered jerseys.

Then we should force Mason to wear the number on his back that equals the number of goals he gave up last game. For instance, tonight it would be "starting in goal, #5 Steve Mason!" Next game will probably be "#8 Steve Mason!"

This could ba a game where I leave at the end of the second period. Hoping that I am pleasently surprised, but realistically this should be a good night for Hawks fans.

Other people have my tickets for tonight. I pride myself on being a hardcore fan and what not but tonight will be the first night where I watch the ticker for a while before deciding whether or not to actually watch the game.

I actually like starting Mason tonight at home. Give him some pressure. See if he folds or stands up in the process.

A real positive GDT this is, 4 games into the season and everyone has us getting our ass kicked! The sad thing is, it's probably true! What an apathetic group we've become...

I'm fine with Mason in goal. He didn't have much of a chance in PHO the way we fell apart in front of him.

Heading down to the arena for our first game tonight. Hoping for a close game.

Nope. Never said that either.

Both have potential but IMO neither deserve to be a starter this year. Both had a miserable year last year. Should have brought in a reliable vet and made a decision to either sign bob and trade Mason or just keep Mason.

IMO it's a stupid, cheap-a$$ move to have those 2 competing for the starting goalie. Neither one deserves it.

Let them prove they deserve to be a #1 NHL goalie.

Boy should I even watch. Looks like Chicago is going to be 5-0. We have zero chance with Mason in there.

The Chicago games are usually open, fast, and high-scoring. Since scoring seems to be a trouble spot I predict 4-1 Chicago. After the 1st period...
