Because of his size, reach, and game intelligence, Carlsson looks like the guy who could pull it all together for a franchise that hasn’t finished north of .500 since 2017-18.

Anaheim has had more losing seasons since 2018, then the Bruins have had in my lifetime, and I'm 56 . That amazes me

It may not be tonight, but they should be load managing him this season

I only watched the first period last night ( doubling up on flu and Covid booster knocked me out)..I expected to wake up to a 4-2 outcome ...got the score right but didn't have the Bs as the team with 4

tonight is a major trap game - back to back game with heavy legs against a truly vanilla team before heading back east. Will be interesting to see what line up tweaks are made- I expect Jake and Shatt are in ...hopefully Looch can play so Brown can sit.

meanwhile they are retooling, still finding the right combinations and are- wait for it- 4-0.....true the opponents have not been the cream of the league but pile up those early points before the schedule gets tougher.

Carlsson has been as good as advertised, we’ve been playing him with terry and zegras, the line has looked great, but snakebitten. Unfortunately that is also kinda putting all our offense in 1 line, tho the mctavish strome vatrano line has showed some chemistry.
Really looking forward to seeing Carlsson for your lads tonight. I haven't seen him except for the 1st goal highlight and I'm eager to see him work.

I wish they didn’t play tonight. Especially the 8.30 start time. Dolphins/Eagles is the Sunday night game. It doesn’t get much better than that for a match up. Oh well, I guess I’ll be flipping channels. Keep it rolling Bruins!

I wanted fantilli at the draft, but carlsson has turned me into a believer.

He has limited expierence on NA ice, and was basically injured for most of preseason + first couple games…. But to come in to a new league with new ice dimensions and control the game as well as he has is very impressive.

If I'm Montgomery, I'm re-playing Zegras shooting his mouth off in Anaheim last year
to piss off Frederic and the rest of the players who played in that game. #88 got a hat trick that game and maybe 2 after Zegras shot his mouth off.

Anaheim is one of those teams that seem to give the Bs more trouble than they should.

Hopefully Anaheim continues to live in the penalty box and the Bs PP cashes in. Will be fun to see Frankie V. I see he is off to a good start this season after doing great last season. And of course it's always cool to watch Anaheim's young guns. Still wish Bedard was with the Ducks rather than Chicago. Would have provided for some crazy entertainment and creativity.

Gonna be nice seeing Lindholm back in Anaheim.

The Ducks top line consolidates most of its offense in Zegras-Carlsson-Terry. There isn't a grinder on that line, but they're mostly on the same page and dangerous in the OZone. The second line of Vatrano-McTavish-Strome is the Ducks' more physical line, but their chemistry as well as production is very inconsistent. Henrique should be up with McTavish, but HC Cronin fell in love with the 2nd line due to the first two games of the year because Vatrano scored a hat trick.

Anaheim's defense has been revamped, including three rookies (Lacombe, Mintyukov, and Luneau), two vets (Gudas, Lyubushkin), and the return of Drysdale after missing most of last season. That defense has helped calm down ES play between last season and this season.

The Ducks are good at ES, but abysmal at special teams play.
  • 2023-24 season
    • First four games: 1-3-0 (2 pts)
    • ES goals for: 9
    • ES goals against: 5
    • ES goal diff: +4
    • PP: 1/12 (8.3% efficiency)
    • PK: 7/22 (68.2% efficiency)
FA Killorn has been injured since pre-season and will miss another week or two with finger injury. His presence is missed on the 2nd line and on the PK.

Good game to y'all and no injuries!
