Nino has 4 goals in his last 26 games, something like that.

Names has 3 in his last 24 games.

Even ignoring goals, there's 2 guys on this team that are "good" in 5v5 scoring, Connor and Ehlers. Scheifele is "alright", and then a bunch of meh for their position in the lineup, Perfetti (and Vilardi) included.

It's a team wide issue. The PP doing a good job of masking it. They're 14th in the league in 5v5 goals/60. Good defense and Helle make it look alright, and it's clear they're focused on defense first, just need some more offensive pop from a lot of guys down the lineup.

Like the Ehlers/Lowry combo if they can get a better winger than Iafallo.
Maybe it's impossible in the cap era for teams to be elite at everything (especially in a non-desireable market)?

For example... Chevy could move out guys who are good defensively at 5v5 and bring in guys who will score more, but maybe that drops us down the 5v5 GA catagory. Since GF% is a an equation with both a numerator and a denominator, does robbing from Peter to pay Paul make a difference?

Are there any teams that are at the top in everything? Is that even a realistic expectation?

You could probably even alter the system so that it's more conducive to offense, but I don't think that's the answer either. As the saying goes.. "defense wins championships, offense decides by how much"

Talk about a head scratcher, Stan on his offside against the Avs is certainly one of the choices of all time.

How about you know just running Heinola/Miller like a normal person, yikes.
See how it works. I'm pretty sure there's a game plan there. And it's not to play those guys against top 6 matchups. Fleury coming back on the PK is something to watch.

No shutdown line without Lowry, so I like the idea to spread out the scoring to 3 lines against a top 6 heavy Colorado team, at least from a winger standpoint. Centers just have to play good defensively in the system.

Well make of this as you will but this is what Murat asked Scott about said choice....

Don't need elite, just a bit better.

Or if you want Fleury back in, Fleury/Miller?

Stan CANNOT come out of the lineup.

I think Stan's last game against Colorado was a decent one, and every team in the Central seems to have their giant back on defense, for Colorado's it's the other Middleton.

Fleury on the left side gives an element to the game where the Jets are counteracting the Avs speed from the right side of the defense, with their own from the left side. That's a matchup to watch.

Fleury going to block some shots again on the PK, should be a positive in that area.

Heinola is going to get most of his starts at home this year. I've come to accept that. Everyone on the Jets defense is a + player except Fleury, who probably got in over his head, so Scotty has made a lot of right decisions this year.

I'll defer to watching the show.

Will be missing the game tonight due to a late start time. I will PVR and maybe catch Thursday.

This should be a tougher game with Lowry out and Colorado owing us one after the last shut out. Either way that's still why the play the games. Who knows how the puck bounces.

Losing Lowry is very bad news indeed. Week to week doesn't sound good at all.

Yep.

Worse than day-to-day, better than "We'll know more once we see the scans"

Week to week = "In a future week during the current season"

Indefinitely = "Someday. We hope."

Would be nice to see a decisive win and stop the brief losing streak. C'mon Confetti -- stow that 200-foot nonsense and score a brace o' beauties already

Video of when Lowry was likely injured here:

I'll wait for our resident doctors to make their diagnoses.
Can't see it because i'm not on X and NEVER will be after what that tool Musk did the other night. If you haven't seen it go take a peek, just a tool.

The fact lowry finished the period is good I suppose.. means nothing is broken I hope..?

Here is hoping we get a big game from Heinola. I’d love tiny to be so good there isn’t room our other bottom 4 competing for spot.

Agreed plus no Lowry so Arniel probably wanted some size in the lineup, right or wrong.
Isn’t Stan benched for game?
