I didnt watch the 2nd or 3rd, as I was working. Towards the end of the game I happened to tune in and heard Olczyk say something about how the Kraken had only really played well for 5 or 6 minutes in the first period.

That's what we've come to. The broadcast team summarizing the game by saying "well they tried for 5 or 6 minutes".

Season 2's team culture is well and truly dead.

I don't know man.

I think season 2's teams "culture" had a lot to do with shooting an insane percentage, leading games early and outscoring their problems more ofthen than not.

If that team wouldn've had an average shooting percentage you don't see 100 points and most likely no playoffs as well.

Anyways, the Kraken couldn't score again and just don't have what it takes to compete with the better teams.

We are ranked 19th in the league for GF/GP. 22nd in GA/GP. Our overall rank in the league, based on points % is 27th. 23rd in PK%. 24th in PP%. We are essentially bad in all categories and it shows on the ice and overall standings.

My sense is that the players and coaching citing lack of effort in their interviews time and again is a bad sign. If they know the issue and still can't fix it, what exactly is the problem there?

As a whole, I consider us a bad team but I really think we are under-performing. I expect us to be a bubble team somewhere in the 15th-20th range but we are considerably off that range.

Doesn't really matter how good the team was, they were at least scoring. This team sure as hell isn't. Our shooting percentage is 10 collectively as a team. We average 27 shots a game. That's a problem. Our scoring is completely on par with that, we average 2.8 goals per game. We're actually 10th in shooting percentage but 19th in GF/G. We're 25th in shots. We're 22nd in GA/G.

Why the f*** does Stephenson average one shot per game?

Like, it's pretty simple. We need to shoot more, and deny our opponents the shot more. Goaltending is fine when it's Daccord. But you can't win games when you're at 2.8GPG and 3.16 GA/G. You can't win games when your offense is so anemic that you're constantly getting limited to single digit shots.
