It sucks, but when I think of Staal the first thing I think of is the eye injury. That was so scary. I still remember Wayne Simmonds reaction, immediately waiving over the trainers. You could hear Staals scream when he got hit.

The injuries destroyed him, but at his peak man was his a beast. As mean and good of a shutdown D as we’ve had in many years.

Hope he gets the standing O he so justly deserves
