Awful shift from Laine they really can't play him in OT

He did win the previous OT. It's risky to play him with another guy who's struggling defensively though.

I don't think i've cheered harder for a prospect when they were drafted. I knew this kid would be a 1st line player ( even if he's more of a REALLY great 2nd liner ).

I was REALLY happy when we drafted Demidov but caufield slipping all the way to 15... I was SO pumped after about pick 7-8 just hearing him slip all the way to us!

Tied for 7th in the league in goals. A shade off a point per game. He's a first liner all day long.

He still hasn't quite hit where I thought he could be though. Lots of time and he's been derailed by injury but I think he can put up even better numbers. The one thing I'd like to see from him is multiple goal games. That's how you get to 50. He's pretty consistent about getting a goal every other game but he doesn't often hit the two to three goal games. You need those if you want to crush the scoring lead.

In other ways he's better than I thought he'd be. He's actually driving the play and his passing has become really impressive. He's not just a one trick pony who stands next to the net. He's got some flash to his game and is good at setting things up as well as finishing.
