I thought you'd suggest a Forum excursion to Las Vegas to look up and hit a bunch of swelled-headed Golden Knights' Forum posters. A worthy excuse to lkeave The Midwest in mid-Winter. :naughty:

Plenty of excitement right here at home.
The tampon, Trollin, MMD(whatever his current handle is), tommy the stalker, etc...
No need to pay for a trip out of town.

Tonight was not the night to try one of patented “push hard the last 10 minutes and make it a game” strategy. Once again too little, too late

I don’t hate the Chiefs or Mahomes or any of that, but that the NFL is rigged is not a question.

I’m kinda glad I haven’t been watching the Blues games lately.

Vegas is good team, but this was uninspired performance by Blues.

I agree but when your goalie gives them a couple softies it sort of hurts moral but it's all good cus apparently Binny is washed up and Hofer is the superior goalie.

I don't hate the Chiefs and I am not a football fan but I tried to watch the Superbowl and Holy f***, can they ban Taylor Swift from games already?

It’s all a set up. Just a big show. Swift and Kelce was a plan.

I could see Vancouver shaking off their funk or Utah putting something strong together and causing a challenge. I just also think Winnipeg will tail off and get passed by a better team by the end of the year.
Vancouver is done. Unlike the Rangers, their locker room is in turmoil and they don’t have a world class goaltender. It’s one of those years for them. A mess. Maybe Winnipeg gets passed but whoever gets #1 seed will have a much easier first round in the West this yr. Thats the point.

Can't blame em. When the Rams left, the Chiefs became the only team left in Missouri...
Colts are closer to my house (not that I root them)
if the Eagles left Philly, not one self respecting Eagles fan would root for the Steelers just because "they are in the state"
A Penguins fan isn't going to change their allegiance to the Flyers
a Yankees fan isn't going to root for the Mets
A Dodgers fan won't root for the Giants
so yes I CAN blame them
horrible humans in my estimation
worse even than the scum who still root for the Rams

As this season goes on, I'd really like to see Broberg out there at the end of games where we need a goal. At this juncture we're not really a playoff team, we have like a 5% chance to make it according to most oddsmakers. Faulk is a respected veteran, and I get that, but it's time to start giving Broberg a chance with the game on the line. We need him to continue growing, and he's not going to if he doesn't get the reps.

I haven't been keeping track, but they are known for overworking HellBoy during the regular season.
Unsurprisingly, he leads the league in games played, shots faced, and total minutes.

If Winnipeg goes to a 50/50 split starting now, Helly will play 55 games plus whatever he plays at the 4 Nations tournament. I'd wager that he'll play at least 2 of the 3 round robin games plus the championship game if they get there, but there is a real chance that Team USA throws him out for all 4 games. It is a short tournament with no back-to-backs and there is very little margin for error since only the top 2 teams advance out of the round robin. Team USA has no incentive to manage his workload and he is their best goalie.

Helly could very well play 59 games before playoffs start even if Winnipeg started a 50/50 timeshare today.

It is almost a lock that he plays 60+ games this year, again. He's going to be tired when the playoffs start, again. I don't know if fatigue is the only (or even main) reason he struggles in the playoffs, but I genuinely don't understand why Winnipeg hasn't made any effort whatsoever to see if rest can improve the problem.

Oh boy! I dig the Jets and have loved HellBoy, but they're gonna crash again if they don't give him some rest.

EDIT: I wonder if Hellebuyck has been blocking the backup from playing by insisting that he be the guy.

The Rams. Boring. I'm not a NFL fan. There are so few games that the financial stakes on each game are astronomical. Former mob guys have come out and spoken about it. "So and so" has big money on this outcome, so we need you to throw at least 2 interceptions and miss a few tackles. f*** the NFL.

I'm out in Arizona and I don't care about the Cardinals at all. Kyler Murray is a dickhead and he is stupid. He's one of those tools and no toolbox guys. He's too dumb to be a NFL QB.

On the other hand, it has been cool going to Diamondbacks games. Not really a fan, but still fun to have a team to go see when it's not hotter than hell. The Suns have been successful lately, but the NBA is a joke.

At least I got to go to a handful or two of Coyotes games over the years and even got to see the Blues last game ever at Gila just a few rows behind their bench. I think the Blues won in OT.

100 percent agree with you I would never root for the preds or the hawks if God forbid Saskatoon happened…..but In fairness outside of one (Highly Disputed)World Series Win by KC. KC and STL just have no rivalry.

Weirdly the few times I have been to KC though they hate STL…sort of how we dislike Chicago but they never can say why. It is certainly not sports related must just be a big brother thing idk.

I never watch the NFL screw em.

The Eagles, Penguins, Yankees, and Dodgers were all established in their cities in 1967 or earlier. They are all deeply ingrained in their city's culture/identity with fandom passed down from generation to generation. My friend is an Eagles fan from Pennsylvania. So is his dad. So was his dad. And my friend's 6 year old daughter has a bunch of Eagles stuff and is becoming an Eagles fan. That fandom runs a hell of a lot deeper than Rams fandom in St. Louis.

The Rams were here for 20 years and were the city's 2nd chance at an NFL team. I have memories of watching the Joe Montana Chiefs when they were the closest thing to a 'local' NFL team before the Rams got here. And then the Rams were back to LA before I turned 30. I also have fond memories of the Greatest Show on Turf during my formative years, but none of my childhood friends had parents who grew up as Rams fans and none of my high school and college friends had kids who were old enough to have become Rams fans before they left. The Chiefs were in Missouri (and on over-the-air TV in St. Louis) before and after the 20 year St Louis Rams experience. It's really not comparable to teams who have been the hometown team for 50+ years.

Additionally, the Chiefs and Rams never had a rivalry. They played 6 total times when the Rams were here and were in opposite Conferences. There were plenty of people who rooted for the Chiefs as their AFC team while rooting for the Rams as their primary team.

I'm far from a Chiefs fan. I'm a Broncos fan who is utterly and resoundingly tired of that team. But I completely understand why so many people in St. Louis are Chiefs fans.

St. Louis and KC certainly are rivals , I was in college in Rolla during the World Series and KC fans were, and still are, as obnoxious as it gets, and it wasn't just Cards/Royals, they despised the football Cardinals as well - and I certainly reciprocate

I had three kids play and there was palpable dislike between club soccer teams from the east and west side of the state

I was Rams season ticket holder for 25 years, I know plenty of people who are still Rams fans
my best friend is still a Rams fan and goes to 2 or 3 games a year, I hate the Rams now, but I understand those that are still fans (it won't stop me from razzing them, though)

just because a team is in the same state doesn't mean "oh, root for them now"
pro football has been in St. Louis for 53 of the 65 years that pro football has been in the state
we had our team, they had theirs, but hey, now let us throw that out a window and all sing kumbaya and root together? f*ck that

BTW, the Bronco's are my 2nd team after the Bengals, my daughter is a huge Broncos fan, we went to Cincinnati to see them play each other, it was awesome
