I don't know why folks in the media list the lines like this. I mean, based on the last game...

The second line is Marchand-COYLE-Poitras.

Coyle is the center, he took 14 draws, while Poitras only took 3 (the 3 times Coyle got kicked out), plus Coyle is the guy who plays low in the Dzone. I think that's a good thing for Poitras. Less heavy lifting in the Dzone and frees him up for rushes like he had with Frederic.

Also the top D pair is Zadorov-Peeke.

Again, last game those two guys played 21+ minutes each. Lohrei had more overall, but that was because of PP time, and Lohrei's partner only played 14 minutes. Carlo and Oesterle played about 18.

He is awesome, I still have hope that he can become Oli's protege. This was testing his patience level, he passed with flying colours.

Imagine if someone told you in September that in January, in an important game against one of the best teams in the league, that these would be the Bruins starting 4D?

Carlo-Oesterle
Wotherspoon-Lohrei

Oesterle has been a pleasant surprise, Carlo is IMO dealing once again with concussion issues, Wotherspoon is steady no frills & Lohrei has shown strong offensive instincts.

But yeah by no means ideal.

Yeah Oesterle is doing a very solid job, all things considered. Not setting the world on fire or anything, but I've been quite impressed.

You're probably right about Carlo. No obvious specific reason why he'd be having concussion issues again, but with his history and known susceptibility, it likely wouldn't take much to cause a flare up. Definitely looks that way. Simple loss of confidence and associated second-guessing could be factors, but there does seem to be more to it than that.

Can't believe Lindholm is on the third line. I don't think Don and Cam were looking for a bottom-six center when they signed him for 7.75M/yr. Hopefully it creates favorable match-ups that show on the scoreboard.
I can. This was a sheet desperation move. We'd probably be in the exact same spot on the standings without him, with plenty of space. We pounced on the first available center instead of waiting for the right one.

Maybe we roll with something like this tonight and switch Brown and Jones tomorrow depending how Jones does.

Zacha-Geekie-Pastrnak
Marchand-Poitras-Coyle
Frederic-Lindholm-Wahlstrom
Jones-Beecher-Brazeau
Brown
They will probably play Jones and Brown with Pasta knowing them

Need another big night from Lohrei. Another multi point Pasta effort and Coyle pops the 3rd period GWG.
Hit another gear and make the playoffs or stumble & bumble your way to a 9th or 10th place finish.
