Sorry, I find it hard to have another take when the team has Fourgiev, top six Barclay Goodrow/Dellandrea/grubdstrom rotation, top pair Ceci, 82 games of Jan Rutta.

I love seeing the team struggle to reach 20 shots on goal a game.
Is this where I chime in and say Mike Hoffman didn’t get pushed off the puck nearly as badly/often as Will Smith?

I also find Goodie/Dellandria in the top 6 as offensive as top pairing Burroughs.

And then there is Gregoriev…

Even still, I have to agree with Jux, watching games this year feels a lot less depressing. At least there is a reason to hope they can pull of a comeback (they have a number of times, made it close even more).

But woof, watching Shang interview Smith right now and talking about how his game is trending up. Why are we forcing the silly narrative that Smith is doing well? Kid was constantly a step behind tonight and got the puck stripped so many times. I’m so tired of narratives. Why can’t we just say, we’re better but still have a number of players who shouldn’t be in the NHL weighing us down?

Fourgiev has nine whole games as a Shark to his name, which is just one more than the highly-watchable Askarov. None of Goodrow, Dellandrea, or Grundstrom are regularly in the top-6. Ceci is at least a very legitimate NHL player, and Rutta played 70 games last season anyway.

You're letting recency bias from the last two games taint your opinion.
Thomas Speer got Georgie’s save above 91% for the season to be fair

Goose had his chance earlier this year and I think put the final nail in the coffin of his career with the Sharks.

Bords though, I totally agree. It’s prob unlikely he pops, but it’s really weird to me that he hasn’t gotten his own final shot. Especially when we keep throwing Grunstrom and Delandria out there like they’re legit NHLers.
I do not agree on Gushchin having a real chance. You don't put a player whose best attributes are offensive on the 4th line. They put him in a position to fail, and he failed. Look at how much Will Smith struggles playing on the 3rd and 4th liners. Obviously Gushchin is not on the same level as Celebrini, so thinking he's going to succeed in that situation shows a total lack of ability to accurately evaluate your own players. However, I do agree that his career on the Sharks is probably over.

I honestly think they should waive (if they can't trade) Grundstrom, Dellandrea, Kostin, Rutta and Goodrow and call up Mukhamadullin, Bystedt, Bordeleau, Gushchin and Cardwell. Pray that someone pops.

I mean it IS trending up. Problem is it was AHL level at best before. At least he's making some NHL plays to go along with his AHL plays.

I would love to see guschin with celebrini.

Why play Guschin up in the top six when they could give Goodrow another try?

I know you pretty much only post on Smith but he was our best forward tonight and his game is trending up so Sheng’s question isn’t out of line. Does that mean he won’t be stripped and pushed off the puck at times as a 19 year old who hasn’t reached physical maturity? No but he also did a lot of good things tonight that established NHL players couldn’t finish off.

That is a very nice way to view it. The whole being a step behind and constantly having his pocket picked irks me to no end though. Maybe I’m overly zoomed in on this one issue, but he was as bad tonight as he’s been all season on that front. I would 10/10 watch Mike Hoffman over this.

What an ass game. I haven't even felt motivated to comment on it since it finished.
I think the ColombASS game was worse, I think this team might be one of the better teams after the break

Goose needs the puck to much, I think hed be better paired with Schmidt

I wish he would have gotten more of a chance too but he got at least a couple games with Wenberg or someone who wasn’t an offensive black hole, no? I can’t remember who he played with but I remember thinking that was the end for him when he didn’t produce there. He was also on PP2.

But gosh, I sure would love to see him with Celebrini too just to see what could happen. It is weird. It’s like NHL coaches (it’s not just been Warso) look at him & determine it so obviously won’t work they don’t even need to try. I don’t get it at all. But it seems there’s something we fans are missing that’s self evident to folks who do this for a living.

Looked like a prime K.L. out there.

Let's not get crazy here. Smith can improve.

One thing I've disliked and said over and over about Warso is he doesn't put young players in a position to score and rarely runs 3 scoring lines or pairs rookies with veterans. Very sink or swim deployment which almost no player can succeed in.

Honestly, from an organizational standpoint what was the purpose of adding redundant replacement level NHLers like Dellandrea, Grundstrom, Goodrow, to a team already chock full of replacement level NHLers? Half the lineup is fine, but it should not be 3/4ths. Let the young guys come up and play. Make them compete even if most of them fail, how is that any worse than this shit show?
Competition apparently is the iron that sharpens iron, unless the iron is poo

lol. What a day. Commanders win, Knights lose and then this!?!?

Is it in a liquid, gaseous or solid state?
Goodrow is that dog poo that sat out in your yard too long and turned into a hard rock.
Dellandrea is that poo where you wait and you wait and it just refuses to come out
Kunin is that poo where you're desperate to get home in time before you poo your pants and you rush out of your car, you make it to the bathroom, you drop your drawers and it turns out you didn't quite make it and "rimmed" out, so there's some messy cleanup afterward
Grundstrom is gaseous, a literal fart. You hear it, but it doesn't smell. If you hadn't heard it, you wouldn't even know it was there at all.
Sturm is that poo where someone you manage to make an interesting design and part of you wants to show someone how proud you are of your drawing ability, but you don't cause they'd laugh at you.
