At least when the Sharks did theirs, the game wasn't delayed. Why couldn't they do this earlier?

To be fair, we learned our lesson from the Marleau ceremony and made adjustments for Thornton’s. Though I’m pretty sure the Islanders have done ceremonies before so that’s not really an excuse.
