Brady has 3 pts in January
Stützle has 5 pts
Batherson has 4 pts

Are we really gonna act like playing good defense should make them THIS anemic offensively? That’s a huge stretch. We have watched them enough to know they are all more talented than this.
YES. You should.
What makes you think they’re offensively gifted? Because they put up points under DJ smith who had two players hanging out at center?

I mean they all have serious problems beating goalies on clear scoring chances lol. They always have.

They will go completely dry. And other months pucks will go in because that’s life.

But expecting them to produce week after week month after month is simply asking them to be players they are not

We’ve had 5-3 and 6 on 5. And look what they’re able to generate. lol. They just are not dynamic.

Batherson best idea was like…… to short side korpisalo? Uhh.
Probably the best chance we had in the last minute, at least he shot the puck instead of passing it around and not putting anything on net. A lot of comments here about guys shooting and they are right, it's painful how many times they have open lanes to shoot and just try for the perfect play and end up with no shot.

Blow this team up. I honestly don't have faith in anyone in this core. Until this team is completely torn apart and rebuilt I will not have faith in it's ability to win a cup. Dorion wasting 3 top 1st rounders (with another to be surrendered) on Duchene/Chychrun/DeBrincat just isn't recoverable. It f***ed us.

Montreal has a superior team to us in comparison and that's embarrassing.

What doesn't make sense? We've been shut out in 5 of the last 11 games. You think the powerplay is the main reason for that?
Why would Green also be fired? You can take the hit offensively 5v5 if you're defense is good, which it at least has improved massively this season. On PP you're not worried about defence at all, how does that compare?

Yea no shit? The league worst road PP is also 4-30 in that span

Sorry guys, this one's on me. I bought into the team being able to make the playoffs and was fooled again, thus cursing them.

Last 20 games:

Brady Tkachuk - 4 goals, 7 points
Tim Stutzle - 5 goals, 9 points
Drake Batherson - 2 goals, 8 points

Don't get it twisted, it's the same thing that's happened the last several years. Now that the pressure's turned up, our top players have wilted.

We're in the race because of the bottom 6 and goaltending. These guys have been terrible and aren't showing anything to suggest they'll be big game players.
this isn’t the first time they’ve dried up and last time it wasn’t cuz it was the playoffs? While being in the hunt we went 5-0-1.

They’re not scoring because they are incapable of doing it consistently. Simple as.

No one thinks they can score unless it’s an open net. And they’re not wrong. But I would prefer they shoot rather than whatever the passing is.

We had no issue generating chances 6 on 5 a couple games ago.
Yes and stutzle scored 39 2 years ago. Things happen every once in a while.

I almost hope they go on an extended losing streak so I can stop thinking this dumpster fire of a team can make the playoffs.
Every time the team looks like they've turned a corner they have several absolute dog shit displays of effort that follow. Rinse and repeat for a long time now, there's no consistency. That's why I think the core needs to be shaken up with a trade.

This toxic negativity is not necessary. We don't need a massive trade.

The team in itself is toxic negativity... You might be the only one who doesn't see it.

It's frankly a joke a rebuild that your guy did. We shouldn't be always wondering if we're average or bad during the 8th season of a rebuild. It should be clear by now.

Tobe honest it's on the coaching too most of these guys expect Stu get their points on the PP Tkachuk and Bath. Stu played mostly with Gaudette and Giroux. Giroux is not the same player as last year 3rd line is a best fit for him right now.
Tkachuk, batherson and Norris have been bad 5vs5 for years. Nothing new but they were really good on PP.
Since PP suck badly last 20 games. It's really showing our lack of offense 5vs5. We were always dependant of our good PP and 200 foot play . That why when PP went Cold we shitted the bed badly the nice start of the 9 games road trip gave confidence to the boys but that confidence is slowly taking off.

Coaching have to adress PP and 5vs5 offenses tactics or set plays as they are a major weakness. I dont thino it'lack skill but sure need to add top 6 player or 2. It's more using your skills properly.Keep it simple stop trying fancy stuff or big play. Most team dont use creative plays anymore it more about fast execution of set plays , guys have to understand that since they so slow to rewct to passes each time it'like they aleqys trying something new...

Same thing for PP always trying too much for not much.

Some people have been bitching about Norris, but he is imo our best pure shooter. We have a few other guys with good shots, but they won't use it lately for whatever reason (looking at you Stu).

Yes and stutzle scored 39 2 years ago. Things happen every once in a while.

Stutzle has the talent and capability to be a 40 goal scorer, someone just needs to have a come-to-Jesus talk with him about being decisive and shooting the puck.

Sticking him with Gaudette for so long because he's a "shooter", thereby indulging him as a "playmaker", was dumb.

Tim... you have to be the shooter.

He's definitely the best pure shooter, but he also doesn't drive the play and struggles greatly on aggressive opposition as he doesn't have the quick ability to react to that. Those deficiencies makes his contract bad. If he was paid 2m less I'd be okay with it.
