Darryl Sutter on Mike Richards: "He struggled before the game. He's been sick."

Sick is much better than injured. Hopefully, Greene will be ready to go by Game 1, too. Blues will be tough, but if the Kings play how they should, then they will win. Time to show folks that last year wasn't a fluke and go for the repeat.

I only caught the highlights, so take this for what it's worth. I thought the team, and the lines for that matter looked good, nice strong move from Kopitar driving to the net, Tofolli with some chances and that Williams goal was a thing of beauty.

If sharks win their series and we win ours, dont we play against eachother?

I really hated that Quick got ran over by Galiardi, someone should have taken his head off. That kind of **** sets me off.

Anyway, great to be in the playoffs for the 4th straight year, never take it for granted.

kings looked good sharks look disinterested.

bring on the excuses blues!!

I like the NHL.com headline. "Black and Blues"

WE used it last year during the Playoffs ... ;)

Maybe they were:

Niemi, on whether there was a lack of intensity between the teams:
“I think we wanted to get the home ice advantage and we realized before the game we can’t get that so I think it took a little bit of energy off of us.â€

I hope Matt Greene isn't out long...in a series like this, he'll be needed.

Yes. Last time the Kings went unpenalized was Feb 19th, 1977 vs Boston per TFP. Someone said it was probably because there was no Brown or Greene :)

Hey man, I thought we had a good shot at Stoll getting one of his offensive zone penalties late.

There could've been a few called, cough...cough...Quick getting run over...cough...cough, but the refs chose to ignore it. They made up for it by calling something a few minutes later. The officials called that game like they had a 10:30 plane to catch, and I understand putting away the whistle, but we all have seen that play called 100 pct of the time.

Sharks indeed didnt put much effort into it.

St.Louis had my preference but eventually our dominance against them will come to and end, hopefully not these playoffs.

You could see something was wrong with Richards.

Damn, this just shows you how long the 82-game season really is. This shortened season already felt long to me. After 48 games, we're normally just looking forward to the all star game.

disagree 100%

More hockey is always >>>> less hockey.

I missed seeing the Kings play the east - and the 4th game vs the other west conf teams.
