If we had Monty and Dobes a goalies since the beginning of the season. And if we had Laine since the beginning of the season. I'm sure we'd have been high in the standings.

The most important thing now is that our players are healthy until the end of the season!

Yup!

One thing I will say is I have not seen this much stability in many years. The forward lines and D pairings have been stable and that's not something we have seen for a very long time. Usually, our coach is scrambling due to lack of center depth and/or injuries.

He has a .897 sv% and a 2.85 GAA since December 15th.
He's 36th league-wide in sv% and 35th for GAA for goalies who played at least 5 games since that date.

What's your point? He sucks and we should trade him and call up Primeau?
* Over those 12 games, he is 8-3-1
* He has two games where he allowed 4 goals, one game where he allowed 5, and one game where he allowed 6. Most of the other games are 2 goals or less.
* He was also named to team Canada's roster. Bunch of idiots right?

cicra 1971 for me

Been since the '71 Cup season for me. The '70's were a magical time to be a Habs fan.
Beating the Wings is always extra special for me. It keeps friends and family from giving me the business for being a Canadiens fan.

In past years, I would be headed downtown for the game, but that's done with the Wings in the new arena. At Joe Louis Arena, I could get decent upper bowl seats for $35, plus pay $10-$20 to park (depending on how far I wanted to walk). Now, at Crappy Pizza Arena the upper bowl seats are all lousy and twice the price, while lower bowl seats are $180, plus $40 to park. So, I watch the game at home instead.

Detroit is in the mix.
Detroit has a new coach and have been playing much better under him.
Detroit will remember the back-to-back losses they suffered to the Habs.
Detroit will be ready.

My point is that Monty has nothing to do with most of those wins, he's been an average goalie most of those games, usually mediocre in the losses. His stats before/after December 15th barely moved (.900 sv%/3.01 gaa vs 0.897 sv%/2.85 gaa irc) despite the defensive improvements that appeared after acquiring Carrier and the Habs reducing their -31 goal differential to -12 now.

And most of this board have called the people who made that Canada's roster idiots for subbing Suzuki already, not sure where you are going with that last sentence.
