The Good: We were not shut out
The Bad: Curtis gives up more offensive rebounds than the Cleveland Cavaliers
The Ugly: That crowd might have been worse than the Panthers

I didn't think they played bad at all. Those saying fire Richards or fire Jarmo aren't watching the same games I am, apparently ...

A few bounces in the right direction and this is a 3-1 game the other way.

I fail to see which part of this loss is on Curtis. He has a tendency to allow rebounds, but he could have used help from the team in clearing the puck in that circumstance, you are bringing up. I honestly can't remember any other times in that game where his rebounds were an issue. The other goals were bad plays made by Wiz and Savard. He had a nice save on a breakaway against Callahan, which I wouldn't expect him to stop (defensive lapse, breakaway). It'd be helpful if we could have finished on our offensive opportunities we had.

I'm not sure that Forsberg is much better than him and wins us that game at this point in his career either.

Ok, let's talk about how bad Savard sucks.. :p

In all seriousness; we're gonna have to make some adjustments. This team isn't playing well. Our 5 on 5 play is just bad.

We are going to have to make some adjustments on the blue line.

heh..

The best adjustment to the D that I'd like to see is better play by the forwards. Yes, I'm serious.

I agree with this. Our D isn't great but they're under siege most of the game and then grow tired. The entire Savard mistake was made because of a loooong shift in the DZ.

And your boy Wennberg put it on a tee for the one timer that Mac never had a prayer on, best pass 41 has had all season!

You mean his crease clearing attempt? He supposed to let it sit there in the crease..? Or...?

Of all the Wennberg critical assessments, that's by far the most questionable one.

It's funny you say that. He still has more points than 'your boy' Jared Boll. Actually, he has as many goals as he does points..in less games.

You must have blinked on the shorthanded pass to Dubinsky that resulted in a shot off the post.

How about clear it to the corner! They teach you that in mites...I'm not taking the bait on the Boll comparison....that's like comparing a linebacker to a WR, totally different jobs.

I like Wennberg, but with a healthy lineup, he's in Springfield. For now. He's going to be a solid 2/3 line player at some point. Would just prefer to see him lighting it up in the A, than floundering for the most part(better lately) up here and everyone only pointing to one decent play and saying "look, he's better than Boll because he completed a pass!"

I was out tonight and just watched the dtmts version. I'm encouraged despite the loss. At least according to the highlight package the Jackets had the majority of the good chances in the game, just couldn't beat Bishop. Atkinson and Wennberg in particular looked to have picked it up.

No.... the best adjustment to the defense is to get defenseman that can play the game...

:shakehead

Because, clearly, defensemen and defense exist in a vacuum that is in no way affected by the other players on the ice.

I would have expected you to notice at some point in your many years that all 5/6 players work together in a system. If any one player, or particularly one unit, cannot properly play the designed and expected system, the team as a whole suffers. This is even true in american football when the units never share the field. It is accentuated in hockey. While the CBJ defenseman have certainly made mistakes or had lapses or poor play at times, I believe some of this is brought on by fairly poor forward play. The CBJ defense is largely mobile and offensive, so when the forwards are up on the puck and getting things done, it better complements their skills and abilities. When this wavers, it puts the defensemen in an uncomfortable position, like the back seat of a Volkswagen.

I guess you could say the answer is to get defensemen that can better adjust to power forward play, but I'd rather just expect better play from the forwards.

I missed most of the game too.... caught the second half of the game.... In a nutshell the CBJ were down the entire game but collapsed in the third... Bishop should have had a shutout...

The Jackets stunk tonight regardless of what some say here.... they had no heart to win.... NONE!!!!!!!!!

I really don't know what you expect from him. He clears it to his right he will bank it in off the guy who missed the first rebound, if he clears it to his left it gets picked off, if he leaves it there it gets put in. That puck was going to go in. His issue was he didn't lift it.

Personally, I think he's been one of our better forwards recently. He's showing some offensive flare with Anisimov, and he's done his job in his own end. Maybe he would benefit more in Springfield for his offensive game, but the experience in the NHL is also something valuable. He will go to Springfield for their playoffs and we'll see. For now, the seasons already lost, lets see if he can continue improving for next year. People will assume he's "my guy" from my username, and I do like him alot, but seriously, my favorite player is Boone Jenner.
