Likely a planned start for Pickard. Don't think Skinner has started 4 straight this year.

It's all about scheduling.

KK is clearly trying to manage things such that Skinner never plays 4 in a row and generally tries to work it such that Skinner only plays 4 out of 6 and gives Pickard either the weakest opponent or the on least impactful to their place in the standings.

They had to find a spot. With the current 6 game stretch including LA, Colorado, Washington, Minnesota and Vancouver x2, with the Minne/Colorado games being back to back really only left this one or Washington.

May have picked this one because Washington's closer in the President trophy standings than Vancouver is for Pacific Division standings. Though it is possible he's acknowledging that Skinner's career numbers vs. Vancouver aren't pretty (like they weren't vs. Minne as well) and figured he give Pickard a shot.

Right? I only care if Garland gets on the scoresheet. He’s a little cheater but he wasn’t dirty, not really a star. Just play a clean game because the refs are gonna be stupid. I bet they call every little thing this time, so just be the better team and get a clean and professional win at home.

Nucks are irrelevant, about to lose a trade with Miller, no need to feed into their manufactured drama.

My main gripe was with the refs not doing their jobs, a little shit like Garland acting like an idiot only worked because the refs just refuse to call the game.

Also getting annoyed at guys like Debrusk that call it “gamesmanship” or “smart plays” when guys like Tom Wilson get away with blatant interference on Hyman. It’s not smart, he’s obviously cheating, it’s just that the refs are awful. If Wilson wore an Oilers jersey he’d get called, just like Lucic was neutered as an Oiler, refs called him for every little thing.

That was my main gripe too. That was one of the worst officiated games I have seen in a long long time.
I have no idea WTF the Refs were doing.
The NHL is notorious for leveling the playing field by not calling obvious penalties when it involes an infraction against a star player. Its like they dont want to call too many penalties against one team.
Managing the game instead of calling the game.
Essentially the NHL is diminishing the game.
It just doesnt make sense to me.

I dont know if the same Refs are doing the game tonight. I hope not.
Having said that it proabaly wont make much of a difference even if they arent reffing this game.
