They absolutely have to get more pucks on the net. Sure there are the rare games where someone get 35 SOG and they were all from long-range with no traffic, BUT you give yourself a lot more of a chance for deflections (even off of a Defenseman), rebounds, goalie eff ups, and in-crease penalties.

Too many guys seem to want to dazzle us with a phenomenal set-up. Take the shot when you have the shot. No way (at least to me) Coyle was trying to bank his second goal in from behind the net. I think he was trying to center something out in the crease but accepted a happy accident. Still…puck being put on net. Also, for every beautiful top shelf sniper, this team seems to lead the league in putting dents in the back boards. Sometimes it’s almost impossible to miss the net from some of the close range chances they get. This isn’t a team of snipers. Get something on net and see where that takes you.

A win is a win, so they say. But it took 2 lucky, non-intended deflections, a little Coyle bank off the goalie that was smart but should never have worked, and a big 3rd period push, to put away the worst team in the league on home ice. Points for effort, perseverance, and getting pucks to the net, but overall that wasn't very encouraging.

Still, 3 and a half wins in the last 4, that's something. Next 3 are tough though. Let's see how they shape up there.
Nice approach, but to be honest if you want me back in, it is time for them to start winning me back, and I am not just talking wins, and I am sure I speak for many.

Good point, get shots on net and you never know what can happen, cannot score if you don't shoot, and you are right Coyle's goal is a perfect example, I looked in the box scores, did not see anything about a bank shot.

Injuries have thrust him into top pairing minutes it seems. Granted it’s a bad San Jose team but he stood out every shift.
It's good to see him log so many minutes and excel vs anybody .He took a huge step forward in this game. They put McAvoy back on that pp over him I think it would be shocking .PP was best it has looked all season last game ,even if it was SJ .

we are not making the playoffs with the current team. our games played is the only reason. we are like -22 GD. They sens habs rangers are all better than us.
The game on Sat against OTT was a friggin disaster display of hockey.
That goal diff don't mean much when you had like 5 games you got blown out.As for not making it ,that very will could be true but if somehow they can keep scoring like the last 4 games you never know.Rematch with Ottawa coming and maybe have some D guys back.

Not sure where to put this but Morning Bru announced that Barry Pederson is now a grandpa. His daughter Tatum had a baby girl yesterday during the game. Congrats to Barry, Tatum and the entire family!
Congrats to Barry and family

I've always liked Pederson as a Bruins player and hockey analyst and I'm glad he made his home in the Boston area

I’m sure McAvoy would waive for Buffalo - everyone is dying to play there.
Why not??..he'd be playing with more talented players on defense than the Bruins have. He'd be reunited with Cliffy, and could pair up with Dahlin or Power

..the Sabres probably wouldn't bite anyways because they're already spending around 40% of their cap on defensemen

The Bruins could use a big rangy center like Thompson, and I'd hate to see him waste away in Buffalo

I get what you’re saying however are you denying Vinni is not helping the team now?
He is.

Just prefer to find out if Lysell or Merkulov could produce something similar before they hit a dead end in development.

Letieri is a mercenary, short term. And one proven to not be much beyond the AHL. Then again we gave Tyler Johnson a similar chance with worse results.

He’d be in Buffalo?
