If you can upgrade the D via trade with Matheson, then absolutely go for it, but I don't think that's as easy as some think.

Matheson is a positive for this team on most nights and can do things not alot of others can. The disrespect he gets for his occasaional brain farts and bad games are way overblown IMO.
