Everything has gone well for the Habs this year. They are playing well but have had virtually no adversity. Even Laine being out was good timing as it didn't happen in the middle of the season and he came in with low expectations for him and the team. Their backup goalie Dobes is putting up unreal numbers 5-0 .941 save % and 1.55 GAA compared to 2.44 and .910 in the AHL. Will he continue like that?
Outside Laine no injuries to speak of so far although Heinemen will be out now for another few weeks.
More concerning for them would be that Slalkofsky is pretty average for a 1OA and who knows what Reinbacher will turn into. Maybe Hage and Demidov will turn out to be great players but more likely they won't and just be average or good. Then they could end up being middle of the pack for years.
I think you are writing with your heart and not your head.

Their backup has won 5 games and of course he will come back to earth, but their scoring is helping them when their D falters.

Demidov is the real deal I am sorry to say. He won't turn into a pumpkin over here, he will be a big time scorer and be very exciting to watch.

They have a team learning to win now, while being young, in the pressure cooker that is Mtl AND they have loads of talent coming PLUS they have a ton of early picks coming...it really is sickening.

And the B
I mean we are neck and neck with Columbus and Montreal. Not exactly elite company.

We are all equally as bad as eachother and we need to see how to take the next step.
And the Bruins and Tampa and Detroit and Philly and the Rangers and the Islanders and Pittsburg

The Habs are playing with house money right now. No pressure no adversity and everyone thought they would be a lottery team. Let's see when they get a key injury or two and when the pressure starts to mount as the season goes on.
As for Demidov? He is viewed as this all world talent because he literally is being hyped every day by Habs faithful. Is he better the same or worse than Michkov? Personally I would say they are comparable but Demikov has had 5 times the publicity.

Penguins are so disappointed with their season they’re thinking of blowing it up lol. Rangers also a massive disappointment this year.

We need to take a step. I don’t think a step can be taken without another piece. Up front

I hate them as much as you do but come on

Slafkofsky, Reinbacher ,Demidov and Hage are not all turning average lol

Dobes AHL vs NHL numbers mean nothing

Brodeur was 4.03 GAA and .884% in the AHL

Again they won't all turn superstars but they are really young and real good players will join next year and we don't have a single point over them right now unfortunately

Both the Pens and the Rangers are very mature teams and built to compete this season. If they dont get it done then they have to tear it down.
I agree the Sens need another piece. Maybe Perron can be that guy.

Just has Hutson as exceeded expectations other prospects will not achieve what Habs brass thought they could do when they were drafted. That's just a fact. As for Dobes his numbers are off the charts good so far and I doubt he continues his torrid pace.
Lets just see how the Habs are doing in another 20 games.
