That was a set play. Buch moved up to the blue line to accept the pass and the puck went to Laf in the high slot

w/r/t: Pre-Game: I love how we’re at the point where Adam Fox is the standard on our defense. You “hope [prospect defenseman] pans out as well as Fox”.

Fox turned 23 years old like 2 months ago.

Edit: and I’m not disagreeing with this at ALL. Fox is that good.
