Attendance will improve,we're seeing larger weeknight crowds than in the past few years,14 k Monday night not bad.Attendance usually improves the next season after a playoff season, and Ithink you'll see season tickets approach 10 k next season.

still not sure if there has ever been a better crowd than the last game of the season last year vs the Preds...the place was rocking

There have been lots of regular season games like that early in our history. I remember the team getting standing ovations leaving the ice after a close loss. The two best crowds we ever have had were against Detroit in our only playoff experience, especially game four. I've been to several OSU/Michigan games and Cavs games during the "Miracle in Richfield" years and they never came close to Nationwide those nights.

Great game last night.

Not much more to add than has been said already. One thing, though. Love the way Johan waits to shoot when he gets the puck in space. He doesn't just mindlessly shoot and pray. He takes his time, picks his spot, and then gets off a wicked shot. That, my friends, is how a goal scorer does it.

I am not yet ready to get ahead of myself here on play-off predictions. We still have points to make up, and then need to put some space between us and the other teams. It will be way different if we are the ones being chased, not the ones doing the chasing.

Our boys are playing good hockey right now. Let's hope our losing streaks are all behind us at this point. Bob needs to be Bob, and we need to keep up the scoring.

Speaking of Bob, he needs to play out of his mind to catch Bishop. If he plays well enough to overtake him, we will make the play-offs, because that means Bob will be slamming the door on every team we face.

This is very encouraging. While he can't keep this up, if he just keeps going somewhat like his last year stats, the Jackets are in good shape.

It's amazing what happens to your stats when you aren't letting pucks in
from shots taken in other states.

It's nice to have him playing well.

I guess Cam is not a fourth liner eh???

I would assume that demotion to the 4th line is one of the reasons of his recent play. That was a call for him and he answered well. Cam is not cherrypicking and waiting till Dubi and Matty create him scoring opportunity any more, he finally creates something on his own and looks more engaged for a few games in a row. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Oh ya well Brandon Dubinsky has played in one of the greatest sports arenas ever... and Nationwide... it was better! That's what I've been told at least.

And with the depth we have, namely Letestu's play of late, Cam has to keep producing or he'll find himself back on the 4th line. Oh yeah, we have that one guy that has 40 goal seasons under his belt coming back soon too.

I love this depth.

about last summer.
I think part of the attendance issue is that when we have a bunch of home games in a row (or practically that way) then the average attendance for them will drop as compared to if there were 3 home games in a two week span rather than 3 home games in 7 days. Casual fans have more options when the games are clustered. I would think even season ticket holders would get a bit burned out if you had tickets for Tues/Thurs/Sat of the same week for example.

(please note that the days listed are just an example)

I understand your point, but until the team stops winning every night, there's no chance I'm going to get burned out on it, especially knowing that we won't have another home game for an entire month after Feb 1.

2 factors which may have hurt attendance tonight.....I don't know how much but some I have to believe

1) Friday night High School Basketball

2) Buckeyes playing outdoor game in Minnesota

I can't imagine the OSU hockey game took fans away from this, a road game no less. Pretty disappointed in the crowd, good crowd that showed, but I expected a near sellout.

Attendance has a lag period. The first half of the season was disappointing with results and injuries. It'll take a while for the "success" to catch on and result in a noticeable increase in attendance, especially in the lower bowl.

Those of us that have kids that are young school age might disagree. Getting a babysitter one night a week - easy, two - a bit more difficult, three - you're really pushing it.

Well...I've found paying $10 for a Huntington Green seat cheaper than a babysitter. Until crowds pick-up, not usually an issue sitting together:laugh:

It took me a few read-throughs to realize you were not advocating picking up a cheap babysitter and then taking her to the game with you. I was really confused for a few minutes.

We've got four seats together (up in 205 row C) on a partial season package, so bringing them along isn't an issue. Rather, I'd not have them up until 10:15 PM on a school night multiple times a week - so they get to stay home most of the time. Weekend games, we do try to indoctrinate our children to be hockey fans. ;) Many games, they are more interested in the first intermission ice cream bribe than the game.

He can advocate all he likes, but I suspect it's no easier now than it ever was to pick up a cheap babysitter and take her anywhere!

I suppose one should focus on the shorter and skinnier babysitters, as opposed to the cheap ones, if one wants success picking them up and taking them anywhere.

See, this is what's wrong with society... why should babysitters get shorter and skinnier when you can get bigger and stronger? ;)

I'm anti-doping; which I suppose is ironic since I'm such a dope.

To paraphrase Bill Simmons, "Yep, these are my hockey buddies."
