I mean I saw this coming a mile away, should've bet the Blues would lose this game because for some reason they have an unbelievable time against Arizona/Utah.
One thing is certain and that's Monty has Schenn playing like a 2nd line center/winger again. Don't know what he has told him, if Schenn got healthier, or some combination of a hot streak or what have you, but he is playing well offensively:
First 22 games under Bannister
3 goals, 6 assists, 9 points, -8 , 6% shooting
Rate of 11g, 22a, 33p, (-29)
Next 24 games under Monty (not including tonight)
7 goals, 11 assists, 18 points, +8, 17.5% shooting
Rate of 23g, 37a, 60p, (+27)
Whether or not the rate continues is a moot point, he's at least playing like a power forward and scoring like a late 20's/early 30's forward of his style. I haven't looked at his usage to see if he's playing wing or center more (probably wing?), but if this is how he plays for a few more seasons, then cool.
