I'd say it is pretty much a must win that's true.

Maybe what happens in this game helps them decide on the direction of rebuild/retool/compete now which seems to be a bit of a question mark at the moment.
 
As close to a must win in the regular season as there is. You cannot fall out of playoff positions while all the other teams have games in hand

I hope the long break gave them a chance to rest up and help any injuries. Definitely a "must win" because as others have already said, those games in hand that other teams have are going to makes things really ugly very fast if the opponents take points (which they will).

Hopefully the confidence that they gained by beating both Florida and Tampa will help them, they can beat Ottawa. Buckle up!

Here is where it gets dicey

IF the Bruins miss the playoffs they need to move to the 11th-worst record in the NHL to have a shot at lottery gold because a team can only advance 10 slots in the lottery.

There certainly are. Maybe one or two teams really will get a major run going, build some distance to the rest and that will be that, but I think it's much more likely that the wildcards will be a back and forth battle right through 'til April. Which does make the 4-point games like this one particularly important.

Both teams are in middling form, both have different strengths and weaknesses. Sway has been heating up but perhaps this is Korpi's turn (feels due, but do they save him for the Sharks game?), the Sens don't have Ullmark back just yet but they have a kid in Merilainen who's come in and done an excellent job, or we could see the so-so Forsberg. So the advantage in net is not clear. Basically it's anybody's guess how this pans out.
