It's astounding how Holl can suddenly look like he forgot how to hockey.

Yeah, seems like you can't rely on him to always be able to play hockey. And you just can't have defenders forget how to play hockey in such a spectacle fashion that Holl does.

This was a known issue with Holl though, so it's very unclear to me how he was given a 3x3.4m deal. I just pray to god that Yzerman doesn't go and sign Ceci in the summer.

I could only watch the first period, but most of the damage was done there and I didn't think we looked bad. Made a couple of bad decisions, had a bit of bad luck, and stars capitalized, but it's not like we didn't have chances. We bury a couple of ours and the period looks entirely different.

Maybe the rest of the game they went off a cliff, but they only allowed a goal the final two periods. The period I saw wasn't a disaster, though.

It's an improvement over how they were losing before for sure.

Philly's do-able though, right?
I'd hope so with this goaltending. They need to beat Philly and Montreal here.

Yesterday I was excited that my wife bought us lower bowl tickets against Vancouver for my birthday.

Now I’m wondering if I should have just asked her for the money to put it towards a new wristwatch.

As was said during the Bolt telecast, the Wings have the toughest schedule in the League for the balance of the season. (They shoot themselves in the foot the first half.) I would think if we circled this on the calendar in August, and started a poll for points gained, 4 points would be the most common selection. Sure the Bolts loss stunk, but Dallas is simply the better team. Frankly, so are the Panthers. Philly is what makes or breaks the trip.

This team's skill level is competing for the #8 spot. No more, maybe less.

Good - Mo better, Mo better, Mo better. What a stud. Kasper. This kid is going to be a bad a** 2nd line center. I can see a Cup run with Larkin as the #1, ND as #2 and Marco as #3. Hahahahaha. OK switch the 2 (but which 2 ;) )

Bad - Simon and AJo need to sort out their assignments and stop turning the puck over in the neutral zone.

Ugly - I'll stick with and all D focus. After Mo and Simon this team has nothing but 6 and 7 level D. Holl is in the NHL for two or less reasons. 1) Management is doing a CYA over a terrible contract. It is unreal this guy has another year at $3.4M. 2) He is right handed. OK, I will throw in another player. People need to stop defending Copp. That ridiculous comparison between Kasper and Abby is far more applicable to Copp. A MI boy who had a career year, surrounded by talent, signs a home town sweet heart deal and returns to his natural level when not being carried by top end talent. You want a bad contract. Crap... errr Copp is getting $5.7M through the 26-27 season.

We should see inspired play against Philly, it likely the last game of this audition evaluation cycle so players will want to do well with only 16 games or so left to the TDL. (so 2 more evaluation cycles)

So long as they don't over do one way or the other, the wings should have a shot, despite their recent woes in Philly.
