I of course hope his team loses but Ovi certainly endeared himself to me this weekend, partly with his antics but mostly with the story behind them.

This may have been addressed elsewhere, but does Anderson fall under the "9 game rule" when it comes to his entry-level contract, or does that just apply when dealing with a player in juniors? I've really liked watching him on a line with Hartnell and Dubinsky, but if it's going to burn a year of his ELC, it would be tough not to send him down as it appears as if the season is lost as far as getting into the playoffs.

9 games apply to both jrs and the AHL. I'm not sure if Anderson is eligible to slide. I'm guessing not.

I'm not counting on a comeback this season so I'm just going to enjoy watching hockey. No point getting stressed and ticked expecting this roster to go 25-10-ish.

I wonder what it's like to drive a truck that big.

Also, why is Letestu still so low in the line-up???

I wonder if they are seeing if Atkinson can play on the top line, or trying to boost his production and trade value. Or both.

Now that Boll is in we will win for sure because every little body check will be answered with a talking to.

Atkinson's best production was with that line, surprised its taken them this long to at least try him back with them to get him going. Joey and Nick will give him some space.

What sucks most about the Bob injury is that Joey is sky high right now, that momentum might get washed out if McRebound returns to what he was earlier this year. I've got a feeling its going to be a shoot fest against us tonight, hopefully he's ready

Good point, to expand on that, why don't we all, myself included, quit worrying about whether Boll is in or out of the lineup, he isn't winning any games, and he isn't losing any games. And we don't have anybody else in the press box that has done a damn thing either, so they aren't any better, so just shut up about Boll already...enough. Skille stinks too, as well as Tropp and Collins and Chaput and Gibbons and the rest of the scrubs we have plugged in. They all have been garbage this year, as well as Wennberg, and all of our defense. So let's all just crack a beer/whiskey/wine/Appletini-for CBJWennberg and just enjoy some hockey. Do yourselves a favor and watch the game and get your heads out of the computer/cell phone/tablets and being hypercritical of every play...it must be exhausting...that's why I don't come in the room during the games, enjoy the game and comment after!

So is tonight the night Wennberg does something MORE on the ice than just "improve" and the "We told ya so, trade Anisimov" crowd comes out?

Boy I sure hope so.

Don't get Skille out over Tropp. There pretty much the same player besides Skille can actually shoot the puck and has "some" amount of offensive awareness. Also don't get Wennberg on a "scoring" line over Letestu. There pretty much the same player besides Letestu actually being effective and helpful to the team when he's on the ice.

Can't hate on those that have this mindset of just watching to enjoy. I do that too, but I am also trying to think of ways (as a fan at least) for the team to improve. And that includes subtracting players like Boll, Tropp, Skille, etc. I can't agree on Wennberg, Chaput, and Gibbons being bad. They don't score yet, but at least they can play off the puck. But if we lose Chaput or Gibbons (And Wennberg I guess for you guys, but that'd be a big organizational mistake imo.) I don't think anyone would lose any sleep.

I like Wennberg, he's just not ready in my book, I'd rather see him lighting it up in Springfield on a winning team, then going down the drain up here. It's not that I want Boll to stay, I want a tough team that fights, if Anderson turns into that guy that will put up 15 fights a year and score then I'm all for getting rid of Boll. I just know how painfully boring it is to watch teams like Detroit and their European style of hockey. Sure they win, but it's like watching paint dry most nights...that's why I back Boll so much, I don't want us to become that kind of team. We aren't talented enough to win on talent alone...

Decided to forgo using my free tickets to this game and gave them to a friend. Not ready to make the drive down again, especially considering it took over 4 hours to come back to Cleveland after the ASG on Sunday night.

Goooo sports team!

Is Cleveland more of a Wings town, or is hockey above the high school level an afterthought with most folks up there?

Wings and Pens with some Jackets fans and a smattering of pretty much every other NHL team (maybe the Avs a little more than the other 26).

The CBS affiliate is pretty much the only one to show NHL highlights on the local news, and they show the Jackets.

EDIT: The AHL team draws pretty well (currently in second place in the AHL somewhere around 8,300 a night, had 14,400 or so on Saturday night).

I don't think hockey itself is an afterthought at all. Hell the Monsters drew almost 15,000 this Friday or Saturday. People like hockey up here quite a bit.

As far as allegiances go, I'd say its split between Jackets/Red Wings/Pens/Avs (Monsters affiliate).

The Jackets are definitely on the rise in Cleveland though. I really think the team is trying to embrace being Ohio's team.

We also have our fare share of bandwagon Hawks fans as every city does.
