I think win % paints a more accurate picture of where we really are. It takes away the games played advantage/disadvantage and just looks at how you've done in the games you've played so far...

Latvia beat Canada,so yes one game upsets are possible.But 4 out of 7 not so sure.Tonite was still fun though..

Not sure if you are aware of this but during The World Junior Tourney US Coach David Carle and Zeev Buium's Denver team scheduled an exhibition with
UNLV. UNLV is a Club Hockey Team...lol. Guess what? UNLV freaking beat the defending NCAA Champs in a shootout...lol.

Upsets happen a lot more in hockey.

One last rant, how was the Koepke hit a good hit gone bad, with initial contact to the head. They need to adopt the term vulnerable, like the NFL did to their penalty language. Looks like an upper body injury of indeterminant length for Koepke.

Sway played great. Thought Poitras had a nice game but was stuck in his own zone a few times and a very lazy icing. Not sure why he wasn't out on the PP unless I missed it.

It was a well-played game but there is still some work to do on the defense as they have difficulties clearing the puck allowing the opposing team to much zone time. I liked what I saw from the call ups. It was nice to see them finally call up Poitras and I thought Callahan played a good game. Swayman played well and let's hope he continues to get even better. I am very happy to see Andrew Peeke on the scoreboard as he is improving on the offensive side.

They are what they are, a bubble team team. If they get tending like Swayman's the last two games can win 2-3 in a row. Unfortunately neither Swayman or 90% of the #1 goalies can overcome significant holes for extended periods such as we've seen this year with they schedule they are looking at.

Saw the hit. Was clean imo (although Koepke was vulnerable (DKH might be interested to know that autocorrect changed Koepke to Kierkegaard lol).

Also see it took Potsy all of 4 1/2 minutes to register a point (was noticeable in the highlights too). Needs to stay up imo (although, again, only saw the highlights so I dunno if he also did anything stupid lol).

That was a long game, luckily it was very entertaining. I love Zadorov, he was a key factor in the tone of the game. Kastelic is obviously important to the guys, they targeted Lilleberg every chance they got. That is what we have waited to see for a few seasons.

I was hard on Swayman when he was struggling and it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I am happy to see him earning his contract recently, I always want the Bruins to win and while I may not like the player, I admit when they play well because my personal feelings aren't relevant. He was been amazing and looks to be in top form, the swagger is back.

The real reason the losing streak ended is this beauty Undefeated since it returned to its rightful position.

If Swayman hadn't played borderline out of his mind, they got zero points in these last two games.

Coyle played well considering he was feeling sick. At one point we saw him getting Vicks rubbed on his neck and chest by a trainer after he came off a shift. We’ve seen lots of things on the bench: that was a new one

When the game ended he congratulated Swayman but tilted his head down and covered his mouth. Hope he doesn't get anyone else sick. I thought he looked a little sluggish which you would expect with someone ill.

When was the last time the Bruins had an intimidating d-man on the back end that could play 20 minutes a night? Maybe Miller?

I know Zadorov's game isn't "sexy" to the nerds, but man, this style of player has been missed.

Notice how quiet they were around the crease last night when 91 was covering the front? Notice what happened when he wasn't on the ice? Tampa was right in there pushing and shoving. Reminded me a lot of when big Z was here. Obviously Zadorov isn't Chara, but he gave a few guys some shots and they didn't want anything to do with it.

Also, huge credit to Frederic. I've been super hard on him because he has this style of play in him, we just didn't see it for 75% of this season. He doesn't have to play this way every single night, but man, it was refreshing to see. Getting a healthy Kastelic back will take some pressure off, but I loved what I saw in his absence.

This team isn't a GREAT team, but they need to play this style of hockey with the roster they have.

I'd rather miss the playoffs completely than lose a first round to Toronto. Leafs fans wouldn't shut up about that one for the next 20 years.

Am I crazy if I say that Wotherspoon has been our most solid dman all year? He's one of those guys you don't notice often for a good reason, ie. he doesn't make a lot of mistakes. Doesn't bring a ton offensively but he definitely seems like one of those reliable "minute eater" guys.

Panthers are only 1 point behind Toronto so it may not happen anyway . Still a little too early to project the final standings.

I think it has taken Swayze this long to get into proper " game shape" conditions.
He played great last night.
Potsy looks to be a step quicker and has his confidence back when carrying the puck.
Lohrei had one of his best games of the season. I think the extra minutes he played also helped.
It is nice to see Callahan get a shot to play, he still has some flaws in his game ( skating and lateral movement) needs work. He made some nice first passes out of the zone.
Wotherspoon played good as well, the increase in minutes played will only benefit us down the road.
Vinny is Vinny, did not see much from him. I would rather see Lysell up and play in his spot. He definitely has more skill.

Based on what? Swayman had a stretch after Monty got fired where he allowed 3 goals or less in 13 out of 14 games. 9 of those 13 he allowed 2 or less.

If that is league worst goaltending than we are in some sort of new golden age of goaltending in the NHL.

You mean during the stretch when they went 11-4-1 under Sacco? Maybe there’s a correlation between good goaltending and winning? Before that he was indeed trash. Since then he’s been rounding into form and starting to become dominant again. Great to, finally, see!

He was, quite literally, the worst goalie in the NHL in the first half.

When did goals saved above expected become the definitive answer as to whether a goalie has played well or not? Like xGS says _______, so yeah, that's that, book closed, end of story, stop the debate.

Quite literally? Only if you put all your stock in that stat. I think he's been pretty good since Monty got canned. The left him hung out to dry in a bunch of games before his firing.

This is a league where we are seeing goalies let in 4-5 goals in a period sometimes now.

Has he been great? No. But Bruins having the worst goaltending in the league up to about a week ago? You'll never sell me on that one.

Problem with stats like that is they can be skewed by a few games where he let up 7 or 8 goals where the team also tanked.

Zadorov has never been a great fighter, but he's so damn strong he can lock you out and land punches. He gave Jamie Benn an absolute tuning earlier this year after a dumb hit, too.

That's the beauty of having 3 guys who know what they're doing with the gloves off. We had a rough stretch for a while where Bruins seemed to be taking beatings night in and night out.

Physical play aside. I'd like to see Zadorov shoot more. He's got a rocket back there. It's wild, but it's a bomb, lol.

I can never understand the negativity that he gets. I know the excuse is what he's paid and DS didn't get Columbus to retain but IMO Peeke is worth it.
I like him, trust him on the ice more than Carlo.
That rush that he had where he worked the puck into the TBL zone, took a shot and then Zacha to Pasta goal. Both Peeke and Wotherspoon could handle PP duty IMO.

Peake is a good player and was on the top pair in Columbus for a while, but he's certainly not a top-pair dman. However, he is very solid on the 3rd pair.

Pasta and Swayman playing at the top of their game, Bruins are a completely different team.

Zacha with his best game in quite a while.

Lindholm and Beecher won a lot of big faceoffs.

Zadorov again leads the team in hits and blocks. All while being really scary.

Wotherspoon's goal was like a bolt from heaven.

If Lee Majors was a Six Million Dollar Man on a lousy TV show, Sway the way he's playing is worth eight considering inflation. Whoever pissed in Freddy's Cheerios, keep handing him gallon jugs of water. Morgan vs Conor, Battle of the Geeks. Parker Wotherspoon sounds like an Ivy Leaguer with a PHD, who knew that stood for Puck Handling Defenseman. If you lived inside my head, you'd hear this shit all day long. I would charge rent.

It's been the standard for a long time. I mean, if you would prefer to use save percent, the standard for the previous 20 years, that's fine because that told the same story, but GSAE adjusts for "leaving goalies out to dry."

So yeah, statistically and quite literally, the worst. Period.
