You guys see the replay? He definitely shot it right in his glove. Might have been great side to side movement but he ripped it directly into his glove.
Easy to say in slow-motion. I'm all for criticizing Panarin, but I thought he had a pretty good period here.

That's called positioning your glove. Did Panarin not lift it high enough, sure. But it hit the glove because the goalie came across and placed his glove where he should have placed it.

Got better as the period went on. Panarin even had a couple shifts that were solid. Which is becoming exceedingly rare. We just can’t execute. Zib flubbing the one-timer in comical fashion, wide open Bread shooting like an average middle six forward into the glove instead of the corner picker he can be, etc. but the play improved as the period went.

Part of playing uptempo is passing well. The Rangers consistently don't employ quality passers. Even our good forwards would mostly have that at the bottom of their repertoire.

Panarin has his own problems but he would do better in an environment where he wasn't the only guy on the roster who knew what passing through a seem was.

And before somebody says we overpass, we still suck at it. I post a lot; it doesn't mean you should read it.

I think it's more a problem of approach than personnel. I've bored everyone to death about our lack of a functional transition game for 18 months. We are so disorganized. It would help everyone on the ice if they had skating team mates open and moved as a unit.

Our problem is that the coaches look to individuals to make plays, that's fine but we need a team game too.
