I visited Vancouver for the first time in my life back in October. I love rain, so I enjoyed the weather. Amazing food, best sushi and ramen I've ever had. Super cool shops. But HOOOOO BOYYY are the people ever unpleasant. I was astounded that people surrounded by such beautiful landscapes could be so cold hearted.

Were you wearing any Arcteryx? If not, that might explain the attitude.

There ain't many teams I despise more than the Vancouver Canucks - partially because I lived there in the 90s and had to tolerate their fanbase for 10 years, and partially because they have iced some giant scumbag turds over the years, like:

Burrows
Peca
Bieksa
Kesler

Those are just off the top of my head. Then there's the fantastic players that always seemed to feast on the Jets:
Bure
Mogilny
Naslund
Linden

And the little baby twins.

f*** the Canucks!
I can never say anything bad about burrows - guy busted his ass

Weren’t you called Wolfhouse like - checks notes - yesterday?!
New year, new Wolfie! Who are we kidding, remember New Coke?

I stand with @Jet, the Canucks organization can suck it. Also @Moloch the only people I can stand in BC is my family. Except when The 'Nucks play the Jets, theyre the enema, I mean enemy for the night.

Vancouver personality is kind of like the smug, popped-collar-Polo-shirt-wearing, douchebag antagonist of 80s high school movies. Evander Kane is a somewhat extreme example of Vancouveritis. I know some people with milder cases - they still look down on us shithole-city dwellers, but they're more polite about it.

I hated the Canucks after they beat the Jets in two straight playoffs. 1992 Jets team (before Selanne and Zhamnov) had a 3-1 lead against them, and blew it. 1993 was Greg Adams game winning garbage goal. in the old barn They were the team that used to beat the shit out of the Jets. I was at the game when Peca took Selanne's knee out. The Jets trading for King and Domi was a direct result of the Canucks have some meat heads out there, like Odjick, Hunter, Sandlak, Momesso and Diduck. Strangely though I found myself cheering for the Canucks in 1994 when the were up against the Rangers. Same as 2011 vs. Boston. I never hated them as much as Edmonton.

Maybe because my brother was always a Canucks fan. And they had the Moose here for entertainment when the Jets were gone.

My brother gets a little sensitive now when you talk about the Canucks. What the hell are they? A team that has a locker room rift, with a Norris trophy d-man surrounded by some pylons, and a goalie that can't stay healthy.
I'd say they are one of the more boring teams to watch, don't take a lot of chances, and can go 10 minutes without a shot.

Enter tonight's game 1 point out of a playoff position. So they may fight for a point.

Start on time and I think the Canucks are ready for the airport, and the discomfort of their own home.
2nd best road team in the NHL but under .500 at home. That's an anomaly I can't explain, maybe the pressure is greater at home.

I always thought of Ottawa like that. To the extent that if you weren't part of the government machine, you were an outsider.

But I've heard people say that Vancouver has an uncanny way of making you feel like an outsider.

It's been 25 years for me, Last time I was there I was good looking, and met people everywhere. Spent most of my time in the company of a Ukrainian transplant from Winnipeg with Carpathian mountains, so I had no complaints. Even the rain was nice.

My hatred for the Canucks dates back to the Feb 9, 1995 Peca on Selanne hit and the ensuing bloodbath

Let everyone have their peace. They will come back if they want to. A break from the drama and tension is always nice.

Game note, as I don't have Twitter, is Hronek is in town to play this game.

Just rumours about Hronek. We'll find out in a bit.

Come to think about it, if we were getting the crap that 'Nucks going thru Id be missing also. But it couldn't have happened to a more deserving franchise.

The entire Pacific Northwest is like that. It just draws a certain person, not unpleasant just not warm. The pnw in general can be among the most beautiful places in the world though.

I had the chance to meet some former Canucks as a security guard in 1999, at the Sheraton Hotel. I would describe meeting Donald Brashear to deliver a remote control, standing in the doorway in his jock, as one of the most uncomfortable encounters I had in my life.
