With regards to icings…
- Get rid of the red line, icings would then be determined from your defensive zone blue line. If you get the puck out of your zone, feel free to dump it down the ice. (with that said, no more “follow through”…get it out, then send it)
- If the puck goes through the crease at all or hits a post the icing should be waived off.
The Icing rule is antiquated to begin with, today’s players are no longer the slowpokes of yesteryear. Besides that, goalies are more than capable of playing to puck…stop slowing the game down needlessly!
Also, while I’m on my soap box, get rid of the stupid trapezoid…there is no need for it in today’s game. If a goalie wants to venture out there, let‘em do it.
