Pre-Game Talk: Game 45: Saturday Jan 18th: Figs @ Habs, 7 PM | CBC, Sportsnet, TVAS

NHL Network in the US will be broadcasting both Habs games this weekend which means I won't be able to see either game. I will get my play by play from my friends on this site! Thanks in advance

How do I not remember our 1st game of the season
A 1-0 48 save shutout by Monty lol??
Don't remember a SECOND of it, bah

I want this one baaaaaad too
Leafs are in for a lil rude awakening tonight boy
We're playing much different, and much better

Smells like 4-2 W

It’s the game we Rope-a-Doped the Leafs by letting them shoot so much rubber they got exhausted.

I have the same issue, but will be at the US NTDP games this evening and tomorrow afternoon anyway. So, I will have to follow the score on my phone.

We can't win 'em all, and I'm expecting tonight to be a loss. Maybe a point in OT. Honestly... I can live with those results. We're not competing with the Leafs for their playoff spot. I even expect the broadcast crew to be pretty complimentary to the Habs. Montreal's a bigger story than Toronto this season.

I really want to take tomorrow's game against NY. One of the most entitled teams in the league. Last game against them was a travesty of horrible reffing and I wanna' teach them and their fans a lesson.

I would be happy with a 3 point weekend

Probably because the vast majority of the game was in the Habs' end, so you just assumed you accidentally watched the highlights from a leafs-centric station.

Maffews has been heating up, so hopefully the Habs don’t pull a Devils and throw tape to tape passes at him half the night

MSL should absolutely be bold and start Dobes
Monty has been good too, and he had an amazing performance vs the Leafs to start the year.

There's no goalie controversy, let's not create one. Both will share the workload, both give a chance to win to this team every night.

Just for giggles, I'm watching select parts of the All or Nothing from 2020-2021 on the Laffs vs Habs playoffs. Any guesses what the Laffs ended up with - All or Nothing? No peeking

I wonder how popular this series is with the leafs fans. I bet many just keep watching it on repeat.

So the key to tonight's game are: Pezz, Laine going batshit crazy, Arbs dropping nostrils and (since they are likely to start him) Montanbo no playing like a 5'5" goalie.

Exactly.

My hockey brain's like, "BEAT THE LEAFS!! BEAT THE RAGS!! BEAT EVERY F&%#$@ TEAM!!"

My brain, once the swelling's gone down: "It'll be a great season if we only lose 14-16 more games"
Stick to your hockey brain.
