I'm not getting any popups. When I click on something here. Sometimes another thread or try to click on last page of a thread the site will redirect to some bogus link. No adds or popups. I don't get the redirects on any other site. Heavily suggesting the problem is on hf end and several other users on other boards here have talked about it.

The problem with the redirects has been intermittent. Sometimes its regular, then for a day its fine. Tried everything dumping cache, every scan known to mankind. heh.

The board is really on outdated and antiquated platform. hfboards, party like its 90's software. hehe

I'm still not 100% on this. That angle makes it look like it, but it also looks like the jersey flares out at contact so it may even have been the contact itself that moves his elbow (or maybe even just the jersey itself as it returns to the previous position almost immediately after) and it creates an illusion that he extended the elbow.

Also McDavid doesn't really change his path whatsoever and the elbow stay in the middle of the chest areas whereas Johanneson completely changes direction before contact and his stances has his head at a really low level. I just can't look at this and think there was any intent at all to catch him in the head.

Either way, hopefully he has a quick recovery as he is indeed hurt and will miss time from the incident.

In soccer if you check with your head, which is what happened here, you are at fault. Mcd is trying to score, he doesn’t have the puck and is not initiating contact.

Dark mode is much easier on the eyes once they clean up the font and colour issues. Once you've gotten used to it it is quite the shock going back to light mode.

Just makes it harder to read imo and for anybody with non perfect vision its much harder than classic black print on white which is gold standard to me. I've never really got the "screens are too bright" kind of thing. for people prone to headaches or migraines I could see it being a problem. But its never bothered me.

Like anything though the best thing for your eyes is not to spend much time close to a monitor, tech device or TV at all.

Feels like the Oil have been playing a lot of hockey combined with a lot of travel lately. Need a nice long home stand, with multiple days off between games.

I'd argue that when a team has a one-off home game, it's basically a road game. The team has to fly into Edmonton and then fly out the next day.

So, looking at the schedule, it's like we are on game 8 of a 10 game road trip (well maybe game 7 of a 9 game trip if we don't count the first one)

I almost never give the team excuses, but this one is legitimate.

Probably need to score early and get some good goaltending to grind this out.

This was the true value of Pickard's great 2nd and 3rd period of last game. It's a brutal back to back and we already got 2 points out of it.

The other one that makes the chicken wing theory a little shaky is McDavid literally is pushing off his skate the opposite direction he'd need to to impart force into Johansson.

Meanwhile Johansson changed the angle and elevation of his head as he was skating in front of McDavid then goes to cut behind him as he realizes McDavid drops the puck to Draisaitl.

Literally Johansson's head moves twice as far prior to contact as McDavid's elbow.

Bingo. I’ve posted screen grabs here a people ask me if I’m wearing sunglasses. WTF, dim all your screens so that you can’t see anything or make out details? No thanks.

But to each their own. I don’t piss on folks using dark mode. You do you is what I say.

We get a little softer with Skinner back in.

Colorado was just spinning until they made that goalie trade. Lets hope Skinner continues from his last performance. Colorado is a great example of completely turning it around by just having good goaltending.

I have it on dark mode. I just find it's easier for my eyes but maybe I'm just used to dark mode. Infons the white is so damn bright hahaha. But my glasses have a tint to them because I hate bright things. But to each their own

Also I just did a Tyler racer test and smoked the competition got 138 wpm.

Hard to know honestly. I’ve been seeing him do things opposite to some of his philosophies and messages he said last season. I am sure theres a bit of a juggling act between what he wants and what management wants.

One of my favourite PGTs to go back to is our OT loss to Colorado last season shortly after they acquired Sean Walker. It was all doom and gloom and people raging that we didn’t acquire Walker at the deadline ourselves.

Walker ended up fizzling out with Colorado and contributed nothing in the playoffs. The Avs happily let him walk in the off-season.
