All I know is that if I was a player, I would bust my ass off for this type of coach.
They also see he's going to bat for team. When the team was going bad early this season, MSL ate a bunch of shit from the media and fans. And let's be honest, expectations were higher this season, and impatience was palpable. Many wanted his head in a platter. The players know if they f*** up, he still needs to show his face everyday, he'll be taking the brunt of the abuse in a crazy market.

Laval is there to develop. Pezz is there as a depth forward in case of injuries. I am sure the Habs want our players in Laval to go on a run and see what winning is like at the AHL level. Yes, they will call up guys if they have to but the point of this is we don't have to.
Sheesh. The guy can't play in the NHL. He does not play 4 minutes because it's the plan before the game. He plays 4 minutes because every game the coach realizes he's lost on the ice and can't be trusted in a close contest.

Barre-Boulet and RHP are the real depth forwards in my opinion.

Pretty sure someone will be called up this weekend.
We'll see :)

Laval is there for Montreal not the other way around.
Plus Pezz isn't trusted by the coach. He plays 4 minutes a game , forcing double shifting of some players who are already tired by a crazy schedule. We can't have Pezz playing 4 minutes a game for 3 weeks.

Young players can handle the occasional double shift just fine, even sometimes thrive with it. Our forwards got an exceptionally even icetime distribution last game. Suzuki had the most of all forwards at 17.55 last which isn't particularly high (penalties possibly played into this).

Even if we called someone up, I seriously doubt they would play more than 6-7 minutes in a game like this, making that 3 extra minutes difference distributed among 11 other forwards virtually negligible.

"The time has come to recall Jared Davidson.

If the Canadiens are consistent with what they have been doing for the past few years, it's time to continue to give opportunities to young players who are part of your future.

What works in Davidson's favor is his style of play. He is physically strong, has an excellent shot, can play on the power play, and can even help out at center on occasion. In addition, he is left-handed, an asset in the Canadiens' lineup.

Davidson has played center in recent games on the Rocket's 4th lineup first and foremost out of need to balance Pascal Vincent's lines. He has continued to do well and he has continued to produce.

The time has come to give him a first chance in the big league." - Anthony Marcotte

Can't wait for this rematch after a narrow loss on an empty gas tank. Dobes in? Let's hope.

Pezzetta hopefully is going to be replaced once they are back in Montreal. I think Luke Tuch should be the call up, as he is being developed as a bottom6 winger, so no better opportunity than filling in for Heineman. Tuch-Evans-Armia or Tuch-Dvorak-Gallagher are both interesting options.

If he doesn't work out, call someone else up. Don't settle for Pezz, when there's a great opportunity to reward and challenge our most ready prospects, and only until Heineman returns.

Exactly. A call up probably won’t make a difference. Things are working so leave it.

Marty seems to be good with giving Suzuki Caufield and now Dach the extra shift or two which is fine for now. If they are looking for a three to four week solution my guess is Anderson gets bumped and they bring on a 4th liner who can roll with Dvorak. The Evans line is still getting equal billing with Dach unless he and Armia are killing tons of penalties. Whatever we do hopefully the production won't dry up completely.
