Love Ostapchuk but he needs to provide a little offence here or there once in a while, can't have your developing 4th line center give you only 3 assists in 30 games with 0 goals. Would rather Highmore take his spot and Chuk sent down to continue developing his offence down in Belleville.

Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson
Giroux-Stutzle-Perron
Cousins-Pinto-Greig
Amadio-Highmore-Gaudette
I'd like to see the following line-up when Perron returns:

Tkatchuk-Norris-Batherson
Giroux-Stutze-Greig
Perron-Pinto-Amadio
Cousins-Gaudette-McEwen (or Highmore)

At the start of the season, Perron was playinhg with Pinto and Amadio on the 3rd line. They were building some chemistry before Perron's leave of absence, would like to see them reunited. I'd put Greig on the 2nd line with Stu and Giroux. Also at the start of the season, Cousins-Gaudette-McEwen were very effective. That's when Gaudette started his scoring run. It also puts one pest on each line. Will also allow the coach to run the 4 lines more evenly IMO.

Gaudette would be the player I take out for Perron, thought Gaudette was our lightest player last night by a large margin, love the hands but he’s not generating enough playing with Timmy
It's an odd situation. He'd be the guy I'd likely take out too, but I'd like him back on the 4th line and pp2, so...not sure how to make that work

Agree completely. I want us to make a move for a winger for Stutzle now. Nyquist for example. Get some reinforcements early. We gotta make playoffs this year.

If they kept going like they did at the start then they would simply be players that they are not lol.
See below. Sure, the Senators were really hot in October. But, I really doubt many here were predicting 69 total points for the season for Stutzle.
Sure. If you think this is a cold streak, then it’s probably not a big deal, it levels out their torrid paces earlier in the year. But they’re now operating at this pace for 1.5 months, which is enough to raise alarm bells that we have an issue if it continues.

If they produce exactly as they have since Dec 1st, then for context this is where they would end up after 82 games.

Tkachuk - 59 pts
Batherson - 64 pts
Stützle - 68 pts
Norris - 43 pts

I don’t think this is indicative of their talent level. Saying they’re on pace to do what’s expected is true but they’re being elevated by a hot start. What we’ve seen of late is a concern if it continues.
I’m hoping Staois and the management team have done a thorough and accurate analysis of the teams weaknesses and strengths and has a strategy they want to execute that addresses both short and long term goals and needs.

I’ve wondered about moving Stutzle to the top line to play with Batherson & Tkachuk. Not sure how many minutes Stutzle has played with those 2 line-mates? Maybe somebody knows? I’d be curious how productive the Stutzle/Batherson/Tkachuk line was assuming they were together long enough to get a read on that.

The only problem is what happens with the 2nd line? Is it better ultimately, or weaker?

Assuming Norris is traded and is not replaced with another center, then Pinto would become the 2nd line center. The assumption it seems is that this would make the 2nd line stronger & more productive plus Pinto’s point production would be better than Norris. I’m not suggesting this isn’t possible, but merely pointing out that this is an assumption versus a guaranteed outcome.

If people are wanting to replace Norris with another center, I’d wonder if such a player is really available and if that player would really cost less. That also seems like an off-season move in my mind.

Stutzle is not on pace for 69 points tho…. He’s on pace if you take his coldest part of the season. And he was on pace for like 110 if you took his hottest part. Neither his coldest part or hottest part will continue.

I just reflected what another poster stated. Yes, everything is temporal in nature and what you stated was obvious. So, I’d assume what that poster was stating was that was the “current pace” which obviously can or will change at different times during the season. I think people recognize this and I didn’t think that had to be explained, but there you go.

that poster responded to me. So I had already seen it and discussed with him.

Yes currently they’re slumping in the scoring department. But if these players didn’t have slumps then they would simply be different players. Expect slumps
