I think it's super important for the Kings to score first, otherwise we lose to a team that needs to play a boring road game and still has enough talent and youthful energy to pot a goal or two.

I was curious, so I looked up the stats of teams when scoring first versus trailing first, and subtracted the second from the first to figure out which teams scoring first was the MOST important for.

I was a little surprised -- the Kings are middle of the pack there, 13th of 30 at .760 (scoring first) - .389 (trailing first) = .371.

For comparison, the Rangers lead this with .683 (.850 minus .167), and Buffalo is the least first-goal sensistive (.300 minus .281 = .019)... and the Ucks are 2nd-least sensitive to first-goal scoring (.720 minus .684 = .036).

And if you were curious, the next-least affected teams are Vancouver (.180), Dallas (.190), Edmonton (.190), and San Jose (.220)

The worst part of all these early penalties is it take us way from any good start and gets the other team into the game. Tonights another example of that.
