A BUNCH OF RANDOM THOUGHTS AT MIDNIGHT:
What are they going to do about it. They've been slapped around by both Florida teams with nary a whimper.
I had high expectations for this season, I thought that they took care of the toughness issues, and that with a few more moves they could bolster the
goal scoring.
I've been hard on Sweeney in the past but I thoughjt that he always had
his finger on the pulse and that he learned from his early mistakes.
I'm shocked really.
I thought that maybe more toughness would make more space for the
offense.
Last playoffs only Pasta had the balls to go after and fight Tkachuk, which was a crazy thing to do but nobody else stepped up.
This has become a team of imposters in the Spoked B.
Who are these guys?
They have none of the qualities of the team that wore these uni's
from 2008-2023.
This mess is depressing and disgraceful but I/we shouldn't be all that
surprised. All of those winning seasons need to be paid for and now
we're paying with interest, and we're going to be paying (with interest)
for the foreseeable future because that's the way it is when you
go for it every year and never truly worry about the future, just keep
paying out the nose for has beens.
Maybe yes we're spoiled but the shock of what we're witnessing
with a dead offense, a limp defense and a greedy goaltender to back them
up is beyond the pale.
There are no more hero's from the past era to save this management team,
these players, and those coaches.
I don't think that I've ever said "blow it up" and I'm not saying it now
but much more intelligent moves need to be made.
Does Sweeney have the wherewithal to make the right moves?
If they don't make the playoffs with Jacobs stay the course with DS
or do what they did in 2006 and rebuild?
This time, from what I can tell there is no Gorten to come in and
make 2 great signings, even if there were, they haven't the Cap $$$ to do it.
Lots need to be done.
