Who knows, maybe Heineman is a lot luckier than we know and they're a bit shook by it? Pure speculation of course but without more facts you can easily imagine a scenario that would have turned up a lot worse for him. I had a car back up on me as I was walking through a crosswalk at Sherbrooke and Prud'Homme and managed to duck away with just a bruise but could easily have been worse.

It's up there with the worst periods we've had this season.

I'd argue though that the Utah players got an overwhelming majority of the 50/50 puck luck, and that the refs have only called penalties one way.

Normally these things tend to equalize during a game, so either this is an outlier in our season, or we'll get some luck going our way in the 2nd and 3rd periods.

I would say we could look at the refs but they keep picking on the same players all the time. If Pezzetta gets another penalty, it’s either a massive conspiracy against the Habs/Pezzetta or Pezzetta might be somehow involved.

Utah was aggressive and had a good period. But it also helps when the refs only call one team's penalties and not the other. Gives the uncalled team multiple chances to keep the momentum going.

But it's also crazy that Habs haven't played in a different building the last month. They've been travelling non-stop.

Here's where they played the last month in order:
