If they were looking toward tomorrow, hopefully they'll be ready to play and finish the game tomorrow. There's no tired. There's no back to back. Show up for 60.

Doughty. He plays well in the Final. He plays well for the gold. He sucks when he's trying to win a Norris though. Both games against Ottawa were just bad. Not just him, the whole team, but he's the focal point in a game like this.

Karlsson: 2GP, 1G, 2A, 3Pts, +2, 5 shots
Doughty: 2GP, 0G, 0A, 0Pts, -4, 6 shots

Just trying to do too much all at once in those 2 games this year. The 2 games don't change anything, but he was off in both. Plus Ottawa never gave him time with the forecheck.

Zibanejad - 2G, 3A, 5Pts
Hoffman - 2G, 1A, 3Pts
Ryan - 1G, 2A, 3Pts
Karlsson - 1G, 2A, 3Pts
Pageau -1G, 1A, 2Pts
Lazar - 0G, 2A, 2Pts
Turris - 1G, 0A, 1Pt
Chiasson - 1G, 0A, 1Pt
Stone - 0G, 1A, 1Pt

Anderson - .913sv%

Toffoli - 2G, 1A, 3Pts
Carter - 1G, 2A, 3Pts
Lucic - 0G, 3A, 3Pts
Muzzin - 1G, 1A, 2Pts
Kopitar - 0G, 2A, 2Pts
Lecavalier - 1G, 0A, 1Pt
McBain - 1G, 0A, 1Pt
Ehrhoff - 0G, 1A, 1Pt
Martinez - 0G, 1A, 1Pt

Quick - .791sv%

Outshot Ottawa 69-44, outscored by Ottawa 10-6. 9-6 without the EN. Felt like the Calgary games from last year all over again.

Came back to post exactly this.

A special kind of stupid happens on the internet in general when we lose to a canadian team. You even have some bloggers attacking Rosen about Quick not being elite.

To me, the definitive moment of the game was the second Ehrhoff-Schenn minus. The play is in the corner, and a Kings player and Ottawa player are down low in the corner battling for the puck, and Ehrhoff is reaching in to help dig out the pucj from 3 feet away. Puck goes to point, shot, Schenn is flat footed and does not pick anyone up, and the pickup hockey backdoor play happens. Of course, Muzzin should have gone behind the net? Its like he was trying a 100 ft stretch pass right in front of his net with his back turned!! The likelihood of him completing this play was probably very low, even lower than the likelihood of what actually happened!! I was at the Ontario game last night and both Forbort and Gravel played well. Good poise from both, and physical enough. I just dont see what they think they are getting from Ehrhoff. And, I understand the McBain vs Schenn argument. Schenn is more physical, but also more pylon!! Pick your poison? Rambling on!! My glass of wine is good though!!

Yeah Ehrhoff reinforced to me today exactly why I hate him. Totally uneven. Looks like an absolute stud for half a game, looks worse than Randy Jones the other half.

Jordan Nolan. Why? At least one dumb penalty every game he plays. I hope he sits in the press box for eternity. Better than the penalty box.

Nolan hasn't been bad this season though. Invisible for the most part, but not bad. I'm not going to lynch him for that one penalty, but it came at an awful time.

That was cluster **** of a 3rd period. Team was looking ahead to the Ducks tomorrow. Glad Vinny got his first goal though.

That was just the perfect example of a team flipping the switch to off after the Toffoli goal, hoping to coast the rest of the way

Wow, how do you even explain that 3rd? Up 3-1 and start thinking about the next game, next thing you know it 4-3. Nobody should be happy about this loss, NOBODY!

I think Nolans last 4 or 5 penalties have all been in offensive zone calls. Great idea by Sutter to put him back into the line up.

I don't want to take any credit away from Ottawa but this did seem like a game they seemed content to not care about after the 3-1 lead like they were looking ahead to tomorrow. We've now been Calgaried by Ottawa twice.

Both times the Kings broke Sens losing streaks, just like Calgary.:shakehead

Shore ****ed up big time with that stupid penalty as well.

In fairness, he got hooked hard which is what drew his stick up.

I recognize you have to have control of your stick at all times but I was least pissed about his.

Was more pissed that every time the Sens got away with one they either got a chance, goal, or penalty at our end.

We lost on our own accord not because of the refs, let me be clear.

Yep, we shot ourselves in the foot as soon as we went up 3-1. As Sutter put it, just shinny play all game long, and it continued til the end of the game. Lazy board work, Muzzin doing whatever he tried, not clearing pucks out and playing stupid hockey with the lead. Even Fox brought it up right after we went up 3-1, the Kings were taking risky chances instead of playing their game.

Sens use their sticks at or above the waist in nearly EVERY play

Or in Karlsson case use both the stick and the arms on Toffoli. I was laughing so hard how he was complaining about the call. That play ended up having an effect on the outcome of the game as it turns out.

As extremely stupid as Ehrhoff and Muzzin (at times) can be, let's also not absolve Doughty of his share of stupidity against Ottawa. Seems like he saves his worst performances against them.

Brutal ****ing game. I've seen the Kings blow two 3-1 leads late in games in the last month.

That ****ing sucks.

Shutdown team in the 3rd?

Yeah, I was just saying Doughty's worst performances have been when he's TRYING to get attention, 2x vs. ottawa and once vs. TO off the top of my head. Baffling that a guy who blows up in the playoffs just sucks when he wants the attention vs wants the win.

Both times the Kings gave up 4 goals in a single period this season happened against the Senators.

So I guess that's a plus. We don't play them again.

Being at the game, the Kings seemed pretty dominate for 50 minutes. Still had that feeling that they should have been burying the Sens and that there wasn't enough separation on the scoreboard.

Couple of bad plays and Muzzin's brain fart and that's game.

Did Shore actually clip the Sen? Didn't see it live.

It's like he has the Norris on his mind in these games. The pregame media hype is overwhelming, he's caught up in it a bit, and gets off his game a bit. Imo

It seems that way, he starts trying to do things individually rather than helping his team out, and in those cases it has ended up hurting the team ultimately with these embarrassing losses. The two games against Ottawa just left a sour taste in my mouth and I really am concerned going into this game against Anaheim considering how poorly they played against them all of last season.
