I have no idea. I watched the replay. Total miscue by both him and Gus by the net. The only thing I can think of is he was worried about an odd man rush?

Miscommunication with 3 guys chasing the puck sucks, but hey, it happens. Don’t know what the hell the effort was after they hit the open guy. He very much could have rushed his shot or helped Husso out by eliminating the option to deke to the backhand
