Why was Smith on his stomach before the shot even got off? I mean yeah, terrible turnover and bounce, but god damn.

Was just about to post about how well we were doing then Yandle throws it up the slot and Smith decides to try and make a save by.. falling on his face? :shakehead

He was getting down to see around the players standing in front of him. Not laying down idiots.

That was an awful sequence by Smith and Yandle.

Olympians Smith and Yandle combine for another beauty.

Yandle really blew it there, but how many free passes does Smith get?
Greiss played excellent and deserved this game. Instead we are down a goal after seriously carrying the play because Smith can't stand on his own feet. I'm so sick of this.

Smith does not get a free pass on that play. Neither should Yandle.

Gotta say that Boedker, Ribs, and the korpi - hanz - verby line looked great. Nice to see them come out with some hustle

Blame yandle. He throws it up the middle of the ice, then screens smith.
No doubt Yandle is the one who gets 90% of the blame for that goal, but if Smith didn't flop to the ice like a dying fish, he may have caught it with his shoulder. The biggest difference between Smith and Greiss is the positioning. Greiss' positioning is exceptional, he's always in the right place and he moves quickly. Smith relies on that flashy glove and continuously attempts to pull off a huge save, which worked for him back in 11-12, not so much these days.

If anything, Smith should get the benefit of the doubt. That turnover/scoring chance was as juicy as they get. Looked like a good shot, too, regardless. That one's on Yandle, which pisses me off, because there's a chance that that overrated, overpaid, over-privileged nincompoop Brian Burke will see the play and feel validated.

Did you see his expression when he hocked one at the start of his next shift, though? All business.
