Last year, the top two teams in the regular season in terms of even strength xGf% were the Panthers and Oilers. This year, the Oilers are 4th, and the number 1 team in league xGf% are The Kings. We shouldn't take them lightly, not just now, but in the playoffs. (For those who are curious, top 4 are Kings, Devils, Canes, Oilers).

Their goaltending has stabilized, the additions of Gavrikov and Edmundson have helped immensely on the back end, up front, Kopitar has turned back time, and Foegele was a great add. Two young guys in Byfield and Clarke also took big steps. This is not the same team from the last 3 years, they're improved. How much improved, we will see come playoffs.

Other than goaltending anything you said could have been said about the prior teams as well. I'd be more than happy to match up our skill against Gavrikov (this is his 3rd year there) and Edmundson (especially), Byfield is a ~20 goal streaky forward that isn't all that intimidating and definitely hasn't taken a step this year, Foegele is Foegele. Clark I guess is new, but I don't think he's going to be the difference.

Goaltending is better (so far), but Talbot was playing to a similar level to start last year as well. Kuemper isn't a guy I think you can bank on being a star come playoff time or even hold his current performance.

They're playing well, no doubt, but big picture its pretty much still the same thing (some) have fretted about around this time every year. Keep in mind that the totality of the season so far is pretty much the Kings A game. There isn't a lot left to pull out of that lineup. Would you say the Oilers have played their A game yet with any consistency?

Like every year, the Oilers peak doesn't happen until March onwards, while like every year the Kings start at max level and the only place to go is down.

The Kings were elite in that regard last year as well. I agree they shouldn’t be taken lightly. I don’t think the Oilers ever have.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: our home record is pathetic. The music they play is terrible. The live music is COOL but TOO LOUD. Also not much variation in the tunes they play its usually the same all the time.

After every move Knoblauch made last playoffs with lines and scratches resulted in success, I look on these types of moves with great curiosity and less disdain. He definitely likes to tinker with the lineup and make notes about what does and doesn't work. This will payoff in the playoffs IMO.

I love it and it's breath of fresh air from the three previous coaches who were so stubborn. Their only "creativity" was McDrai.

He'd make the likes of Peckham, Teubert, or even Fistric look like stars.
There's no logic to playing him and scratching Skinner.
Not according the genius one twitter who suggesting you can't question the hockey people, because they're getting paid for this in the NHL lol. I reminded him of Tambo and Eakins and I think he figured it out lol.

Are the people that are in charge of this site software upgrade the same people that designed the Federal Government Phoenix Pay system that currently has cost taxpayers 3.3B , cause nearly 500k pay issues for employees (probably the one time I have ever felt sorry for fed civil servants).

It’s seriously has gotten worse rather than better in the past 3 days with their enhancing and fine tuning. Almost unusable.
