Trust me, you don't want to point at any advanced stats.

But those 6 goals being your "best" argument did the trick for my argument well enough.

Trust me, I don't want to either.

It's not my best argument, but you asked for a stat that shows he's been good, and that stat (goals, actual real-world production) say he has been good.

When you are terrible for 40 min or so and manage to get a point somehow you take it and run. Last couple seasons they would have folded like an accordion. Encouraging to see the effort in the 3rd to prevent leaving there with nothing.

Coming of an extended period of lay off due to injury and being placed in a crucial situation as Liles was in is a head scratcher. He did as he was asked and they paid the price of a point lost. Could loom large in April.

McIntyre gave them what he could for as long as he could. Thumbs up to Zane!

Full credit to Ward who made several outstanding saves that were Tuukka like. He was a huge factor in deciding the outcome.

On to St. Lou to continue the battle in the effort to remain standing at the end. Bend but just don't break B's.

This.

Wrong player started tonight unless Miller is nursing an injury.

And why cant' they simply run Krug, Chara and Carlo as the single defensmen rotating in OT? One shift on followed by two shifts as a break is what they are used to.

I would rather see Rask come out and skate in his goalie pads then ever see Chara skate in a 3v3. Literally couldn't be a worse scenario with Chara.

I'm speculating here but I think Liles played because Julien won't take a player's spot away because of injury. IOW Liles is going to have to play his way out of the lineup. Not unusual for a coach to do this either.

Plus he's got to get back to some kind of game shape. Better to begin against the 'Canes. It wasn't a terrible decision.

Julien has 2 sets if standards for veterans, even if they aren't very good and young guys.He has a soft spot for untalented pluggers because that's who he was as a player. With all of the talented youngsters we have in the system, he is not the guy I want leading this next generation.

Unfortunately, this is the frame of mind I"m coming into as well for this team. I just want some new blood/voice. Yes, I know this could make things worse, but there is a chance that it could also be for the better.

We miss the playoffs again this year I can't imagine this won't be the first change.

Three vets lose the Bruins a point in overtime. Bergy not scoring. Liles with the poor pass. Krejci with the turnover.

Imagine if Spooner turned that pck over, we would not here the end of it. But Mr. 7 million dollar man does it and nothing much said. Wow!

This is not just the mentality behind Clode either, listening to Brick gets nauseating because he does the same thing. He'll sit there and nit pick Spooner/Pasta but then some of the vets will have glaring turnovers that almost or do lead to goals and he skirt around it as best he can.

For what it's worth Pasta has been a turnover machine again lately, but Clode has continued giving him top minutes.

Dont look now, but according to several posters, Schaller shouldnt be in the NHL, which is absolute BS.

He has 6 goals and doesnt take shifts off, yet he cops the flaming.

he's been ok.
he turns the puck over a lot in our defensive zone.

seems like he has a great backhand though and he's pretty good along the walls in the offensive zone

That was a horrible play. Zero rhyme or reason for C. Miller to not be playing. NONE.

He had rust and it was an unfortunate play that resulted in a loss.........but for others to say he doesn't belong on this team, I personally think is wrong.

Before his injury, he was a very effective 3rd line pairing dman that played a simple game. I like seeing C.Miller play, but having K.Miller continue to play the off-side is a nightmare........this allowed him to slide back into his regular position.

We all know Julien won't scratch either McQuaid or Miller.

For sure and that's ok. Was referring to putting him out for OT. That was the head scratching part for me.

Watched Chiller ride too much pine last year. He has been playing really good hockey and got sat out so that a mediocre vet could play who ended up costing the team the OT goal with his awful decision making and pitiful defense. Not digging the move whatsoever. There is zero reason at this point for Chiller to not be an every night player.

Agreed. I haven't been terribly impressed by Colin Miller since we got him last year and I still think his game is too soft for my liking, but that kid has really played well over the past month and a half and It shows in his confidence on the ice. I wasn't happy to see him sit.

I get the fact that we need another left hand shot on the blue line, just didn't think Chiller should have been the odd man out last night.

Overall, the team was flat and dead-legged for most of that game. 4th line played great.

I think Liles being in the game was the right decision. I think C. Miller sitting over McQuaid or K. Miller was the bad call....we aren't good with one of those guys in the top 4.

For what it's worth Pasta has been a turnover machine again lately, but Clode has continued giving him top minutes.

The turnover on the PP by Pasta that lead to the shorthand breakaway was brutal.

Pasta is fighting it right now; teams are playing him tighter and he's been adapting by using his linemates a little more. He's had chances to score, but he's been missing the mark.

Last night, the whole team looked awful. I watched the replay of it and my initial judgement of being one of the sloppiest games I've ever watched stands. Tons of missed passes, snipers in the stands shooting out player's skates, no offensive or even defensive flow. The only line that looked like it could play hockey was the 4th line; the rest of the lines seemed to wake up after the Backes goal, but that was a pathetic game. Playing the night before, getting in at 2AM in the middle of a storm, and not getting any practice looked like it really affected their legs and overall game - kind of line how they didn't practice before the Jersey game and they layed an egg there as well.
