I personally am not very interested in trading Marchand for a low 1st who will likely be a bottom 6 player anyway. We certainly have plenty of that.

Him retiring a Bruin means more to me. If it's more than a 1st and an actual impact player.. Sure. I have no idea what team that would buy him would trade that asset though.

It would certainly send a message that page is being turned without truly impacting the roster composition moving forward.

I don't trust Pastrnak or McAvoy being the captains. I think McAvoy talked about how Marchand is a different breed of player, and that reflects on his leadership. Marchand is the kind of player any team should want as someone that has a voice in the room.

The thing that confuses me is what is the identity of this team? They are below average in skating speed and shot speed (NHL EDGE stats), so they don't really play a quick skill game. They rank 1st in avg height and weight, but I wouldn't say they play a big physical style of hockey.
