One moment he’s darting after his man, damn all positioning. The next he’s collapsing back into the slot affording the puck carrier ten feet of space.

All these guys lack confidence at the moment and are not trusting their instincts or natural games. They are unsure about their tactics and second-guessing a lot. You can see it on offense as well, really struggling to make plays and passes connect, often their movement is not in sync and does not help the puck carrier. The malaise of the early going has really set in again since Christmas or thereabouts.

Swayman hasn't been as bad as the defensemen in front of him. In fact, the only thing the BRUINS defensemen do well is to screen their own goalies.
