The Quiet Corner
Oilers the Bruins in for the first bit, scored a goal eventually as everyone stood around with their head up their ass.
Zad went hard to the net. Bumped into Skinner and predictably got called for goalie interference.
Bruins killed it off.
Oilers kept pressing.
End of period.
Bruins outshot/outplayed.
Fans boo them off the ice.

This pretty much sums it up

Marchand oscillates multiple times every shift between playing super aggressive defense and incredibly passive defense.

One moment he’s darting after his man, damn all positioning. The next he’s collapsing back into the slot affording the puck carrier ten feet of space.

All these guys lack confidence at the moment and are not trusting their instincts or natural games. They are unsure about their tactics and second-guessing a lot. You can see it on offense as well, really struggling to make plays and passes connect, often their movement is not in sync and does not help the puck carrier. The malaise of the early going has really set in again since Christmas or thereabouts.

It's been said that it's better to be lucky than good. I'd prefer my favorite team to be lucky and good.
Unfortunately, the BRUINS are not lucky and they're not good.

Agree that lack of confidence is showing. Nobody wants to carry the puck, especially on zone entries.

Two separate times Oilers came from behind the goal line to drive the net and got nothing but a stick check. So no, I don't think that's their strategy.
This is why Carlo is a useless player, he should thrive against these big guys around the net.
