Here's an idea...

Put Frederic as our first line center and showcase him.
Hand out 4x4 signs to the fans with sayings like:

"Frederic is great at playing center!!"
"Frederic is a our favorite tough player"
"Frederic scored a goal recently!!!"
"Sure would hate to see Frederic get traded"
" Frederic loves Mark Messier and Alberta!!"

Then watch the Oilers come a knockin'!
Why is that such a stretch playing him as the number one center? LOL The two stiffs that we have above him are so dynamic and producing at such a hight rate, you wouldn't be fooling anyone. He would look like he's been there all season.

Plenty of suck to go around , Pick a player out of a helmet.

Freddy would be a great pick up for the Oilers

Well our PP sucks, our PK sucks, we are one of the most penalized teams, Oilers have top PP, Rooney loves to prove he's not a Homer by penalizing the B's for anything, somdoing the math I'd say we're in for a drubbing!
I say the opposite and we win tonight

Their compete issues I think stem from a lack of confidence. Its been evident to often in their blowout losses. Its been better since Sacco has come in. As bad as their offense has been I can understand why. #88 injured, #13 regressing significantly, #11 mediocre play and missing #74. That's 4\9 of last years forwards in the top 9.

Its the play of the D Corp and tending that's the basis of their shocking mediocre to poor play and its been beaten to death. Doubt it gets rectified, in part because who knows if we see #27 anywhere near his early season form If he returns.

Think I've asked this before, but who the hell is #74?

I agree.
I'm not even kidding about that.
The Oilers are one of the least physical teams and they actually healthy scratched Corey Perry their last game a guy who's fairly physical

Hard to believe but with us holding a 51-23-6-6 record and a 304-249 scoring edge in those games since 1980 when the Oilers entered the league.
Watched many games in the 80's and we always played them tough.
In fact my first NHL game ever was February 22, 1986. Losing 5-3 going into the 3rd the boys scored twice and Barry Pederson popped in the OT winner.
Boy....did I get hammered later.
Then went on the 24th to see Montreal vs Oilers. Montreal went with a rookie goalie Patrick Roy. Oil won 3-2.

Boarded the bus and back to Saskatoon
Good ol' Dash Tours!

13-0 Oilers

The date was February 12, 1984.

I witnessed the lowly Hartford Whalers beating the soon to be Stanley Cup champion Edmonton Oilers, 11-0. 4 goals and an assist for Ron Francis, Greg Malone with 3 goals, 2 assists. Six power play goals. Greg Millen with the shutout, half of the Whalers total shutouts for the season. No one left early.
